It is made out of wood...has super written across it. Some people want a hawk carved into it and other want it to represent the steel industry.
No seriously, its the big finale of american football.

For those uncivilized few of you living in caves somewhere, the two teams that everyone is referring to are the American Football Conference(AFC) champs Pittsburgh Steelers vs. the National Football Conference(NFC) champs Seattle Seahawks. This year, the game(Superbowl XL) is being played in my hometown, the Motor City(Detroit, Michigan). It's very rare for the NFL(National Football League) to choose a northern city to host the Superbowl(Detroit is the only northern city to host the Superbowl more than once).
Since veteran star Jerome "The Bus" Bettis of the Pittsburgh Steelers is a local boy from here in Motown, I'm going to pull for the Steelers(AFC) despite the fact that Detoit is an NFC town(Lions).
I hope everything goes smoothly...I'm a little nervous for the safety of my hometown since the release of the ***** bin Laden threat tape a few days ago.
Many people(myself included) are kinda disappointed that a non-Detroit musical act(Rolling Stones) is doing the half-time show. All the complaints about the Rolling Stones choice has since led the NFL to get Detroiters Stevie Wonder & Aretha Franklin for the pregame show. But it would be nice to have some other Detroiters for the halftime show(Bob Seger, Alice Cooper, Diana Ross, Madonna, Kid Rock, Ted Nugent, Eminem, White Stripes, Temptations, etc.).
Hopefully it will be a good game!

Oh the horrible predicament. Being under the fortunate circumstances that I'm Danish, I've had the option of not just going with a local team to be a fanboy for and as a result, I actually have to admit that I like both teams.
That unfortunately means that this game is really hard to call for me, because both teams are actually playing really well on defence and moving the ball equally well on offence plus both teams have some nice momentum going for them going into the superbowl.
That being said though, I have to go for the Seahawks, if they can call their defence sa well as they did against Delhomme and Smith, they should take this one all the way. I'm just not sure how well the Seahawk's offensive line wil handle the Steelers blitz.

The real winners will be the TV companies, whoever got the food concession and the company handling ticket sales.
the losers will the the consumers. as ever.
its all fixed anyway.
and yes. I hate the world today.

Anyone else looking forward to the commercials that will be released with the Big Bowl Game????
I for one have no opinion to who will win, as i am no longer a pro football fan since jerry jones cut the heart out of the game for me 16 years ago.....
Hope its a great game tho like the Rose Bowl was. "Imagination is the key that unlocks the door." - ME |

Chelsea will win it.
Even if it's the wrong sport, they'll still win it.

Back in the 80s, someone did actually back Liverpool to win the Oxford/Cambridge boat race, on exactly that reasoning.
Unfortunate FEW? ... I have news for you, buddy. The people who don't follow American Football outnumber the followers by about fifteen to one. ________________________________________________

I have a feeling its going to be the Seahawks. I'm hoping its the Steelers (been a fan since 10yrs old)
But no matter who wins I hope its not a blow-out either way. I want to see a close game that comes down to the last 2 minutes. (like a playoff game that just happened)
