I believe every downtime, but it might even be every week. I know that I once had a great trade route but next DT it was fubarred. Seriously Have I Not Said How I Can Assist Some One You Are Killing Online? |

From what I know it changes whenever there is an event like buying or selling. For example, if a station has the need for an item, the price is high, but when you sell large quantities, the price will go down while the need is fullfilled. So you have to make sure that the prices are still what you assume they should be...

Not sure about when the prices change back.
I know the prices, but not the amount of goods cahnges when they are bought and sold.
For example I was doing a quick run between two stations in the same system buying goods at 305. at one and selling them initialy for 371., they only wanted 155 units I had 16,500 units, the first two sales were at 371, next two dropped to 343, and then the remaining sales were all at 333 per unit (and yes it was a lot of clicking:))
I will have to go look when the prices change back and if they stay the same.

Trades occur in real-time, so the market changes every second.
Also whilst NPC's do sell some goods on the market, 90% of it is player driven buy/sell orders.

These are player set buy orders, and there is no fixed pattern to them. They appear where other players want to buy things and the prices vary according to supply/demand.
For example, somone building some ships may put up a buy order for 10m Tritanium units at 1.50 ISK a unit. That may be the highest price on the market, so everyone sells to that player. Once his buy order is fulfilled (ie he has been sold those 10m units) it goes down to the next highest available purchaser, and so on.
