Hey!
Finally got my absolution today(been waiting a looooong i can tell ya ;) ) I've been playing around with a few setups, and so far, i've set'd it up for PvE(Yeah i know, it should be used for PvP, and yes, it will, but since the prices are somewhere around 340m, i can't afford to loose too many atm)
My current PvE Setup:
6 Heavy Beams T2 (MF's and TS/DB MW crystals) Rocket launcher with defenders(for guristas/missile npc thingy.. else ill proberbly change it for a tractor beams or another utillity thing)
10MN T2 AB TS Web (14k/80%) DB/TS Medium cap booster(ill maybe change it for a t2/DB/TS Cap recharger)
Corpum-a type Med rep TS Cpr (25%) 2 T2 HS 1 SS Energized adaptive Nano(20% to all) 2 TS Hardners(55% - Kenetic/Thermal atm, but got an entire set, to change after what npc's im up against)
5 T2 Hobgoblings/warriors
This gives me resistances of 76EM/82EXP/87KEN/82THERM (I havent trained ANY of the new compensation skills, but i just bought them... I have had to much training lately to be worrying about those).
My optimal with MF is 15Km and 42 with MW, so i guess thats pretty decent ;)
I havent tested the cap use on my guns yet, but with the repairer running only, the cap stabilizes at about 60%, with the afterburner and armor rep, it reaches 40% as far as i remember). Thats why i thought about dropping the Medium cap injector for a t2/DB cap recharger instead.. The reason i put'd the Cap injector on was because of possible nossing npc'ers(Blood raiders).
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The PvP setup is still on the Drawing board, but this is what i have thought about so far(Not tested though):
6 Heavy beams T2 Gang assist Module (Armored War Link's)
10MN T2 AB Named Web/Cap recharger(t2/faction) Cap booster (faction/named)
1-2 T2 Med reps 2-3 Hardeners/Energized Nano's(T2) 1-2 T2 Rcu T2 HS/CPR
(Low slots a bit unknown, depends on what fits and so on)
5 T2 Hobgoblings/warriors
The reason i would set it up like this, is that the web is imo a bit useless because of the 10km range only?(comments please) (Maybe i should try with a web + pulses instea? comments apriciated). The ships role is in this case, is to support the rest of the group and provide heavy tanking/gang bonuses, for whatever we might be up against. The ships is vulnerable aginst nossing ships(thats why im thinking of carrying cap boosters, in case a nossing ship comes around and against close range gank bs's i guess. Its not very agile, though its top speed is about 500m/s with good skills.
Its damage output with Command ship lvl 4-5 is nasty, and set'd up with 3 T2 HS's, without gang modules, this ship has a truly great potential of dishing out some VERY serious damage.
I personally think that this ship can be a serious threat and have alot of potential, but then again, it haven't got the small sig radius that Hac's have, and it lacks in speed. Though it's strength(as most amarr ships) lie's in tanking and its hard pounding lasers(with limited range & falloff wise).
The ship ->IMO!<- is not very versatile.. not much room for ECM/Tracking distruters/Scrambling/target painting, but if you got a few ideas - Shoot! ;)
Thats all i have to say for now, i would really like some feedback on my ideas and setups, and especially from people who own one themself.
Remember that all this is MY opinion, if you think otherwise, enlighten us ;)
And btw: Stick to the subject, i expect this thread to be put'd in the ship setup sticky. All unecesary - and unrelated talk will be deleted by the forum moderaters (Hopefully *hint*).

nice LWMaverick, i will strongly consider geting one of those command ships when i got the skills and the isks :) but i still think if it encounters a bs with a heavy nos its cap would be dead

I dont have an Absolution so I can only talk about my experience with a Zealot.
Your setups seem to be ok. I don't know excactly what you want to do with the ship but I doubt (no experience) it can handle level 4 missions. Even a Zealot should be better suited for most level 4 missions because of lower sig radius and higher speed/agility. For level 3 the Zealot is pure pwnage and I am missing words that would describe the ability I expect from an Absolution in level 3 (although I am sure I will miss the range bonus).
If you want to fit only 1 webber I wouldnt use the expensive TS webber in PvE. It will be able only to web one of the fregates outside of 10 km. The others will get under 10 km and then a fleeting webber would be better. For PvE I use 2 webber in combination with heavy beams. I recommend 1 TS and 1 fleeting webber. Try it, you will love it.
I doubt you will need modules to increase your energy. You should be able to kill your opponents in PvE before you even get bothered to turn on your armor repairer.
As for the rest of the setups I can only say 3 heatsinks are a must have on Absolution and Zealot in PvE and PvP. For this ships killing your opponants fast is the best defence. If you want to play safe but slower then buy a Sacrilege,
I have not tested gang modules so far but I know I will take an intensive look at them when I will be able to fly command ships.

doing lvl4s in an absolution is possible atm even with the RoF bug, it just takes longer to break the tank on certain ships.
even angel X lvl4 is do-able and in theory that should be hardest mission for a laser user.
roll on the extra dps when they fix bug. -

For PVP:
- Lose the afterburner. It is slow and will always be slow no matter what you try. Go with its strength's and accept the weaknesses.
- cap booster is a great idea.
- web is a good idea but it must be a 14 or 15 km range module. Spend the extra cash, you wont regret it.
- use the 3rd slot for EW, depending on what you expect to go up against. Could be anything i.e. tracking disruptor, target painter, scrambler, or multispectral. Of course the warp disruptor will help your side score kills, but if you have enough tacklers you can help out in other ways.
- the low slot arrangment depends on the size of your force. If alone, use wcs. If you are with 5 or less, go with tanking mods, if your are with 6 or more, go with 4 heatsinks, armour repairer or two and a cpr or two.
This will allow you to get the most out of the ship for the conditions you are playing in. Just remember, the most imoportant part of pvp is not your cfg, but recon and skilled friends. If you dont have proper intel or people you can trust, your are doomed for failure before you even begin.
Hope this helps.
