hi there was just wandering what the best battleship and setup is as i have an apocalypse with 2 heavy missile launchers 5 duel heavy beam lasers and a large nos with a 100 ab a extra large shield a large shield booster and a large shield recharger in the middle slots but i not really happy with this any recommendations of ship and set up ideally id like to keep the apoc.

Knowing what you intend to use your battleship for would help immensly..
and a shield tanked Apocalypse is a crime against nature, shame on you.

just use it for missions and mining thanks i am new to battleships so please help.

Check out the stickies about ship setups.
And as the previous poster already said, shield tanking an Apoc =

In EVE there is no such thing as the best, at least in theory.
However your Apoc set-up is.. wrong.
Let's take a look at the slot layout first shall we.
8x High Slots
4x Mid Slots
7x Low Slots
Ok.. your guns are ok, but I would use something more along the lines of: 7x Megapulse I's 1x Nos (Personal preference here though)
The med slots are wrong. The Apoc has many more low slots than it does med slots, so it works a lot better as an armour tanker. Remove those shield modules, and put in: 100mn AB, 3x Cap rechargers
The low slots now should be for your tanking, this time with armour stuff like it's supposed to. 1x Large Armour repairer, 1x med armour rep II, 3x hardeners, 2x cap relays works quite well as standard.
Well, thats a pretty standard set-up, not the best by far, but it does work.
