Greetings.
i am an old timer in eve (have 130+MSP and 100+ MSP alt)
I moved back to null sec about a month or two ago after coming back after a short break... and even though i like aspects of null i soon remembered why i also dont like it - Fleets are a PITA. Sometimes it takes awhile to find a fight.. sometimes your stuck on a roam for 2-3 hours (and you cant really log if you want to keep your ship if your in enemy territory)
Where do you think i could find the easiest access to PvP ? Solo / Small gang stuff.. where i can log in for a few hours a week and kill and be killed with out trying to hard looking for it... i dont mind easy ganks or fair fights.. i just want to see pixels explode.
I have been contemplating FW.. how often do you get podded is my biggest concern due to clones are not exactly cheap at 130msp.. cost more then a battle cruiser!
Thanks for any advise |

Faction Warfare is great for small gang or solo pvp. Most of the time its frigs and dessies, sometimes cruisers ect. I have been in FW for three months and been podded only once. As long as you know how to get your pod out, you can usually avoid it. |

Faction Warfare. Specifically the Cal / Gal warfront. Small gang PvP and solo PvP, 23/7/365. More kills per month in Black Rise than in most of nullsec.
Getting podded happens, depends a lot on lag though. No bubbles to worry about, but some gangs will bring instalock frigs with long points specifically to catch pods. Don't fly what you can't afford to lose - one of our guys lost a 1bil+ pod yesterday in a 1v1. |

Black rise region is great. FW lowesec but filled w pirate corps a well. It is where I solo and find many others do as well. I wouldn't recommend joining FW unless you want LP, go pirate for the most targets. Also, being prodded in low is really not a concern if you know how to spam for Instagram when you are about to die - no bubbles. |

I joined FW recently after many years in null sec and I am enjoying it.
It is much easier to find a fight as a small gang. Usually within 5 minutes of logging on.
If you happen to join a larger fleet, you can get some of the chasing/running around without a fight. |

Question - is it possible to gain enough ISK from FW to buy plex?
If so, what faction(s) would be good to join right now? I've heard minmatar is kinda dull because you get massive amts of LP, but the market's inflated and there's not a lot of small gangs on that side, just farmers.
Is that mostly true? |

It is possible by doing nothing other than running combat plexes. This can be accomplished in any of the militias. If all you want is to be some silly farmer then have a toon in all 4. |

You really shouldn't be getting podded in low-sec. Align when you know you're going down and spam warp until your pod gleefully sails outward.
As others in this thread mention, Black Rise is a good place for PvP. FW is a good source of income. QCATS is Recruiting: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=146180 |

If you are AU tz - Apply Today.
If not - Don't apply.
You shouldn't get podded often enough to care. Use an empty clone and it no prob. I stopped paying attention a while ago but I think the more upgraded an FW system is - the cheaper the skill clones get. (Someone plz correct me if this is no longer the case)

I'm in the same boat and fw has worked for me for years. Clone costs are cheaper in upgraded systems. I think I pay 15 to 20 million for my 140m sp char. Ah so you joined Caldari? Poor fella....
Word has gone out you don't like losing pods - well we now have smartbombers on standby just for YOU - any fight you get beaten we'll now hold off popping your ship so we can roll over the smartbomber to pod you too.
Just another friendly Gallente trolling service we provide. Fly safe! o7 |

Have 160m sp, been podded like 3 times in 6 years...usually because of alcohol or gf aggro. Wouldn't worry about it. You get discounts and it's ****** easy to make ISK in FW. http://thewaysofthemew.blogspot.com

"Solo" PvP in Black Rise invariably involves an offgrid booster. Also there's some disgusting filthy blobing nullsec reject scrub alliance living in the region at the moment.

FW is great fun, I would recommend Gallente if you want a pvp focus, Caldari less so primarily because there are less targets around due to the current imbalance in players on either side. I can log in and find fights solo or in a fleet usually within minutes as plenty of targets around, obviously there is the odd hour or so here and there when you encounter nothing but warp stabbed farmers or solo players who do not want a fight, but normally fighting is more or less constant and minutes away from undock.
As to the off grid boosts, pah.. I couldn't care if they are using boosts. I don't have a booster alt, if I did I certainly would use it as it is just another tool in the box and no different to picking fights in a faction fit frigate against a t1 fit frigate or targeting players years younger than yourself. It is not a level playing field and very rarely will be. I lose more solo than I win, but then I have 5m SP and when I win it is much more self rewarding. Besides.. they are just cheap ships. |

FALSE! Its clear for anyone that knows about directional scanner that a faction frig is on its way, but not that the "solo hero" also got a T3 or command ship participating in the fight on his side from a safe location. Also, the booster alt dont show on battle report, as it should since it had a huge impact on outcome of the fight.
I like to linger in the more quiet parts of FW space, and rarely into hotspots that are likely to have boosteralt heroes in them. FW space is probably, as pointed out by others loads of times, the best place to find frig/destroyer pvp. |

Fair comment and truth in what you say, the point I was trying to make howeveris that everyone tries to load the dice in their favour. I got called a *** in local the other day and accused of boosting, because I caught and killed a kitey Condor in a Slasher. I won't name the offender but it's on my killboard. The truth is I was solo, had no boosts and AB fit, I almost burnt out the AB but managed to catch him because he was orbiting at 20km and I headed away from him and caught him as he started to overtake me on the outside. He left local believing he had been beaten by an off-grid boost, when really he beat himself.
Personally, I think off-grid boosting should be nerfed but I doubt it will be, so have to just take the chance otherwise if you assume everyone is using boosts you will fly in fear of engaging anyone. |
