I am currently using a maller (or Punisher) and like "small" ships. I have decided to not go to anything larger than Cruisers with this character (my alt actually).
My Maller agility and speed is decent (for a cruiser that is), with my current setup I have no problems taking out faster small ships (NPC). I use it like my Punisher, go in for close combat (using Medium Pulse lasers, cruiser class version) web and remain in close combat (5k range). Works pretty well so far.
However, I might decide to start using a Prophecy. Not yet though, want to improve my skills before I do that.
How is the agility of Prophecy compared to Maller?
It is slower and heavier than the Maller, but I found a website (don't remember which one) which listed all stats on ships even those hidden. There is an agility parameter on ships and it was higher for Prophecy than for the Maller (1.1 vs 0.55 for Maller. Punisher had 3.3 I think). I guess that agility is a function of both this factor and weight.

The propechy is not very agile.. without great navigation skills, it turns like a brick.. Not as a Battleship though, but the maller is turning way faster.
I prefer the Propechy though.. and especially the T2 ones (Absolution/Damnation) /Mav
With great power, comes great responsibility. |

I can take 3x 1.1 Mill BS spawns in a Prophet with T2 Pulses. Helps if you warp in close but with a AB it isn't much of a problem if you don't and you don't even need to run your AB when you orbit at 5km the BS wont hit you.

Prophecy is a LOT tougher than a maller and can dish out more damage having more weapon slots and a much bigger PG to accomodate them. Maller is a lot more agile and MUCH cheaper. Both are great ships in their places.

I think so too. I'm not too sure about this, but I think a ship's turn/acceleration rate is directly proportional to its inertial mass, which I think is equal to the product of the agility factor (listed on several websites) and its mass (seen in the overview).
Again, this is not a statement of fact, merely a conjecture on my part. If someone could devise some tests to either confirm or refute this hypothesis, I'd be grateful.
