With the prices of fighters the thought of them getting killed by sentry guns makes the whole idea unappealing.

Can't fighters following the fleeing ship into warp though? I'd lauch the fighters into an orbit around me and just before the ship flies off I'd order them to attack, in which case they would ride on the already created warp path and begin attacking the ship upon warp exit. Granted, warping to a station or gate with guns would hurt the fighters but I see more people run to planets/belts/moons than anywhere else. Nice to already have them under attack by the time I get there.

That may be Malka, but if in your haste to attack you realize they actually went to that station/gate instead of that planet, you will have just sent 170m+ or more of fighters to their doom. Since you can replace a lost, insured battleship with t2 gear for about 50m, you will have possibly thrown away 1-3 bs (depending on how fast sentries react, and how long it takes the fighters to realign) with the click of a mouse. Unappealing to me

I can see your point. I would most likely only send them on an assured alignment. If they warped to an area that had a gate right on the same icon as the belt I wouldn't send them., just if it was an obvious warp to planet/belt.

Right.
So you just launched your fighters to take out some guy that warped to a planet. We have a plan! It's a good plan! I'm glad to be a part of it!
Then his friends jump in, warp scramble your now defenseless carrier, and procede to assist the gate guns in dispensing a much deserved arse whooping.
Pwned by a run on sentence even.

My now defenseless carrier? Why are you assuming the following three things:
1. The carrier is not already aligned for insta warp and didn't fit WCSs.
2. The carrier is not being escorted (WTF? Are you that dumb to assume this?)
3. Plants get their energy from photosythesis.
Once you stop the battle assumptions of capital ships, to which you have no obvious experience with, we can begin to play smaller games like tic-tac-toe and Red-light-Green-light. Quote:

I'd rather have 5 sniping BS and a few Eagles for the same price of that 1 carrier, to be honest.
