I have downloaded the new patch and the launcher says client is ready but when i enter login info and press play my machine thinks for a minute and then you see the client window show up on the taskbar for a second then it dissapears never to return. I have cleared the cache and wiped out the testserver folder with a new copy from my main folder but same thing keeps happening. Is anyone else having an issue with this or can suggest a fix or am i just dim???? |

I am getting the same sort of error. The Windows event viewer shows a crash of the application in an Nvidia dll. I've updated my Nvidia driver to the latest, still crashes. Tranquility works fine and Sisi worked before the update.
Here is the event log entry:

Also having issues starting Sisi.
Launcher doesn't work: G:\Games\CCP\EVEtest\eve.exe /server:Singularity (gives an Exception)
This doesn't fix the problem: G:\Games\CCP\EVEtest\repair.exe --server=sisi
However, this does allow to start up and log in: G:\Games\CCP\EVEtest\bin\exefile.exe /server:Singularity
So it seems the launcher has problems getting fixed. It doesn't fix itself and it isn't fixed with repair. And thus bypassing the Launcher is the workaround in my case.

It is possible that it's due to the DIrectX 11 work that's ongoing. You can change the DIrectX version used by the EVE Client by changing the setting in the EVE Launcher. If that doesn't resolve the problem, please file a bug report and include all the logs you can. Product Owner, EVE Launcher | Team Special Circumstances |

This was DirectX 11 issue as it related to my drivers. I have now installed the absolute newest drivers and the problem has resolved itself

Switching to DX9 also fixed the issue for me, thanks!

Confirming also that changing to DX9 fixes the problem.
Now if CCP would link the background picture in the launcher, to one that's the same size as the launcher.
A 784x 900 launcher size (ok guesstimate) with a 4 mp 1800x2400 resolution picture for a background makes a slow loading launcher.
Or just make the background picture cached, so it doesn't have to be reloaded unless it changed, would be great.
This would probably lower the server load....

This issue was resolved on Sisi about two weeks ago, then last week after a Sisi patch, I was unable to start Eve on Sisi again. Same issue. Also at the same time, the control button on the launcher to change DirectX 9 or 11 does not do anything. The button seems to be non-functional.
Eve does not launch and it gets the same windows error as above. I opened a bug report on Monday, but there is no feed back if the bug is being looked at.
I have the latest Nvidia drivers and a pair of 550Ti cards.
