I have a question about these types of missiles:
1) Do they hit gang or corp members or any of their drones for that matter?
2) Do they hit structures aswell as hostile targets (stargates, stations etc. aswell as structures found at mission sites)? and won't that be a problem?
3) Does all the missiles launced in the same volley (from 4x launchers for example) go for the same target or is it completely random? Is the target decided by range?
4) Does the damage bonus from training light, hv. mis. etc. skills stack with the FOF skill damage bonus?
Thx for the help :) |

AFAIK they hit the closest target that agressed you. But I am not 100% sure.

FoF will only hit things that attack you - so that means they will not hit structures.
They will also only hit the nearest target to you that is shooting you/attacking you, so if the ship the missiles were hitting moves further away from you and another gets in closer (and is also attacking), the missiles will head to the new nearest target.
Not sure what would happen in a gang. For instance if someone is remote armour or shield repping, would the FoF interpret that as an aggressive act ?? I wouldnt mind an answer to that myself

Neg- Only something using EW or guns on you is considered hostile. For instance, if a Scorp + a inty are working you you, the inty gets in close as the scorp jamms you. if you are able to tank the scorp and inty but are locked out, you must FIRST destroy the 'ceptor. before you can FOF the Scorp. Works a treat but if ya have em. because FOF are the nastiest surprise.. Blackbird decides he is gonna kill you, he jamms you. you quickly swap out your cruises for some FOF cruises.. and he gets the surprise of his life. IF hes too stupid to hit warp in time, you get yourself a lovely killmail! Works nicely against 1vs1 where people think EW is a *IWIN* card. Normally noobs though.. anyone with half a brain brings a tackler mate

Yes they will hit some structures on "Destroy the habitat" mission you are asked to leave the Mining Colony alone for later pickup FoF will target this structure. Never had drones hit or gangmember who was targeting me hit until he fired at me then they targeted him, as to q 3,4 not sure

The skill to use FoF missiles adds to the normal class skill for the same missile so you are getting 2 bonuses. As someone else has already mentioned, FoF missiles have a lower base damage than conventional missiles, thus the FoF skill helps to make this back up.
FoF missiles do not operate with the targeting system so they work while you are sensor jammed (both ECM and sensor dampers), though this can also be a down side when you are trying to fire at a specific target during times when you ARE NOT jammed.
For an FoF missile to fire it requires that a player, npc or object be "aggressed" before it will launch and auto track to the object/ship. This means that the item in question must already have fired or used a hostile module (ecm, target painter, warp jammer, stasis webifier, etc) against you or you against it. Only then will the FoF missiles recongnise a target and launch towards it. They also only launch towards the closest current aggressed "target", since you can't actively select a target for them to fire at, remember. You are further hampered by the limited activation range of FoF missiles, which I believe is partly based upon one skill or another, though I am unsure and even so; which skill this would be (fof skill or perhaps scout drone operations). Range appears to be 25-35km depending on missile size, if my memory serves.
But hopefully the above will help to clear up any questions you have about FoF missiles.

FOF missiles are not working properly as of two days ago. A corp buddy and I noticed that FOF missiles hit the closest target. Friend or FOE should be re-named friend AND FOE.
The Destruction of your ship is usually preceeded by the thought,"I think I will try somthing a little different this time...." |

thx for the info, it helps alot. However one question more:
If my gangmate uses normal missilies angainst npc's and they all target him, will my FOF's be able to shoot at the targets he has aggroed - or will they be useless as I'm not being fired upon nor have aggroed anyone? |

Nope. They will be useless. The enemy ship(s) must not only target you, but actually have activated an aggressive module (weapon/disruptor/jammer) against you. Until that time, the FoFs will not fire.
I learnt this in a mission against Blood Angels...had to let the cruisers get to within 40km of me before they could shoot at me and the FoFs would activate.
However...and here's the interesting bit...once one of them has fired at you, and you kill him, if you are in range of a structure, the FoFs seem to auto target and fire on the "Wanted" structure(s). Before that, they ignore them.
