Hi Guys,
I need some serious advice from experienced players. I have some 2.4M sp right now and i have 400k sp in Armor , 200k sp in Shield , 400k SP in Gunnery and few SP in Missiles. I have maxed my Amarr Frigate 5 so that i can get my Assault frigates. I have all supporting skills in Energy management either 3 or 4. i am currently working on power grid management 5 (should be completed in some hrs)
I wanted to do PVE so that i can earn som ISK . I per run i get around 3 million (combining bounty + rewards + loot + salvage). I want to do the same so that i can gather some ISK before starting to do PVP.
Currently i am running Harby and i am not much satisfied with the way things are. I am able to take every target and am able to complete every mission except for those that has energy neut's. I can tank for very long time if at all that mission does not have that energy netus. I am stuck with a mission that has 3 energy neuts and its draining my energy in about 30 sec.
Since i am low in SP, i was thinking if its time to decide , if i want to cross train caldari ships and get missile boats for PVE ? or should i go for Drone boats and stick with Amarr ships. Am really confused.
I am looking forward to do Missions, ratting, DED Complexes.
Please let know guys. |

Your mileage may vary, but my opinion is that drone skills will serve you well in just about all circumstances, up to and including PVP. Also, training missile skills can actually be helpful for certain Amarr ships; the Sacrilege is a missile-based heavy assault cruiser, and the Prophecy and the Armageddon are extremely compatible with missile batteries as secondary weapons to complement their drones. A Prophecy with heavy missiles might serve you quite well in place of your Harbinger, for example; it's also got a defensive resistance bonus, and its capacitor can be dedicated to active defenses. (And with rapid heavy launchers coming out for battleships with Rubicon, heavy missile skills will be great with the Armageddon as well.)
And speaking of capacitor, if you're having trouble with neuts, you might want to tweak your Harbi fit to include a cap booster, which can hopefully give you some extra breathing room to take on neuting rats. Charges are bulky, and you can only carry a limited number in your hold, but a lot of people who run missions swear by them. Hi Bala,
I also started with amarr ships but since cross trained into minmatar for the selectable damage type. Since doing so i hardly ever use my amarr ships anymore.
Having a selectable damage type is just too good for both pve and pvp. Gone are the days of having to either skip a mission becuase of the enemies resists or do the mission reaaaallly slowly.
People say that em/thermal damage restricts you to amarr space becuase thier main enemies are weak to lasers. However you sometimes get the odd guristas or angels mission in amarr space which is really annoying. Even with t2 guns u cant really damage guristas or angels well using only em/thermal because ur shooting into their highest resists.
Also some amarr ships are missile boats and u have already made a start there therefore personally i would highly recommend u get into missiles.
The reason im recommending missiles over projectiles is that they are immune to tracking disruption and u can select the damage type. Missiles also never miss and are capless. So if ur getting neuted u can at least still shoot ur enemies. Missiles also have massive range and with good skills decent damage.
good start btw and good luck.

i wouldent suggest crosstraining at this point as early on your training is better spent on support skills as its very much a decision between being good at one race or mediocre at two.
use the eve survival website to identify troublesome npcs before entering the mission and fit to counter prior to engaing them. in a pinch an energy vamp or, as sugested above, a cap booster could help you to last long enough to kill the neuting ships |
