Hello,
every Time when I've docked, undocked or jumped my Tutorial starts again. When the Popup-Window comes up I close it and anwser the question to continue later with "NO" but without success.
When I've did this I press ESC and select General Settings and demark the Arrow for Tutorial.
Because both didn't work I've tried to do the Tutorial, when I try to do my Agent Mission I undock my ship and the Tutorial comes up again with the flight Tutorial.
One of my Corp Members told me to change the *.ini (I've forgotten the Name) in the cache, if this didn't work he pleased me to delete the cache, so I did, but still no chance to play.
My last choice was to delete Eve and install again.
The Problem still exists.
Please let me know if somebody of you has an idea.

Edited by: Thomas Epsilon on 26/01/2006 05:10:27 So, the 'newbie' attribute in <EVE DIR>\cache\prefs.ini is set to "0" ? Did you delete the EVE folder after uninstalling? (except for the logs..)

Hi,
prefs.ini was the file I've checked with one of my Corp members.
I'm not sure if I delete the folder after Install, do you think it will help?
What kind of options should I check?

I have the same thing. Something has gone funny all by itself, as I've had Eve installed forever and this weird problem occured over night. Overview resets, tutorial keeps popping up, it asks me if I'm sure every time I go into low sec space, chat logs keep resetting, the lot. I tried everything you did, apart from the reinstall, which I am going to try tonight. If I have any joy, I'll post what I did to fix it.

Navigate to your EvE folder and find a sub-folder called "cache". Inside that folder is prefs.ini and another sub-folder called "Settings". Right-click on these, select properties and make sure "Read only" is unticked.

Make sure the date and time on your computer is correct. This fixed it for me.

correct me if i'm wrong, by .ini files persist after some uninstalls, so yea, you would have to delete the folder.
