It very much depends. Me and a friend both started playing september 05. I have a balanced stat-sheet with a slight bias towards perc-will, he has stats that are totally focused on imt-mem, weŠve both trained learning to the same levels at about the same time.
Now, me training across all attributes for combat is just about at 4m SP. Him, training exclusively for Int/mem-primary skills is at 6m SP.
So it depends on the path you take with your char.

I'm coming up on the end of month 6 with this charachter, and have about 7 mil skill points now. Put some time into learning skills, and you can expect to get around a million SP a month or so. Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the oth |

My character has gained about 1.5 mil SP a month on average since its creation. This is with +3 Implants and I'm sure I'm gaining more now as the adv learning skills are at level 4.

It really depends on your stats... and if you're training skills that are dependent on those stats.
I'm comming up on 1 month, 2.5 weeks old and have already broken 3 mil.
But my two main stats are Memory and Intelligence, and all I've been training are learnig, Industry, and some other skills that require those 2 stats.

it all depends on ranking of the skill the time it will take

Absolute rubbish.
Rank has nothing to do with the rate at which skill points are acquired.
An average attribute distribution character like myself gains approximately 9,797,760 skill points in 240 days (6 months), and 19,867,680 in 365 days (1 year).
Thats using an average attribute of 25.2, thats achieved with my +5 implants.

with my adv learnings at 4 and +3 implants, my attributes are:
24.2 int 19.8 perc 26.4 mem 18.7 will (who cares about char)
so, with an int/mem skill it takes me 18d 14h to earn 1mil sp
with a perc/will skill it takes me 23d 20h to earn 1mil sp
in 6 months, it seems id earn somewhere between 7.5 and 9.5 mil sp.

I created a simple program a while ago to answer this question.
exe c
Here's how to use it. Suppose we want to calculate the rate of training on int/mem skills.
Enter primary attribute base value: 11 (I have 11 base int) Enter primary attribute learning skill level: 9 (+5 from basic, +4 from advanced) Enter primary attribute implant bonus: 3 (basic +3 implant) Enter secondary attribute base: 9 (9 base mem) Enter secondary attribute learning skill level: 9 Enter secondary attribute implant bonus: 3 Enter learning skill level: 5 ('learning' skill level)
SP per day: 53064.0 SP per 30 day month: 1591920.0 SP per 31 day month: 1644984.0 SP per year: 19368360.0 <----- 19.37m sp/year
Press the any key to continue.

I think a fair estimate would be 1m-1.5m a month.

Been playing just 1 year almost to date, and I have +14,5 mil SP. I started training learning skills a few levels early on, and 2 months into the game I started taking them seriously and basically didn't stop until the advanced ones were at level 4 (except for charisma). I've mostly been training skills that uses perception and willpower, my worst attributes.

As of 0749 EVE time today i passed 2 years of playing. I have accumulated 30.966.455 Skillpoints total.
That sums up to an average of 1.290.268 skillpoints pr month since i started I have had +3 implants for about 20 of 24 months.

Let's see ... "Date of Birth 2004.11.14" ... that's 14 months and 12 days ... I've had my +2 and +3 implants for most of that time (maybe a year) ... all my Advanced Learnings are maxed ... and I broke the 20 millions SPs barrier this morning ... that would make a rough average of 1M5 per month, 9M for 6 months, 18M for a year ...

With a mostly-full set of +3s (will +1 and char +2) and all advanced learning skills to level 4 I'm doing 2000 SP an hour.

Date of Birth.... 2004.09.11 05:53:00 Gender............ Male Skillpoints........ 24,894,260
Atts are 23, 23, 18, 23, 26
I trained this char with +3 imps from the start and just put in +4 perc and will.
I only trained learning to start with and as the basic learning skills maxed out, the advanced ones arrived.
I've got a 1.5 million a calendar month average.

Well as it's my 1st birthday today I can give you reasonable idea (just waiting for my corpies to spring the surprise b'day bash ) .
You currently have 111 skills and 17,093,076 skill points
That was training up to adv. learning 4 (cept Charisma)straight off the bat. My attributes are weighted in favour of Percep and Willpower, and although I have more SP's dependant on those, there are a good number in 'basic ship skills' (ie engineering, navi, mechanic etc)
Good Luck

doesnt matter. rank2 skill takes twice as long to trian as a rank1, but also gives twice the skillpoints. so training one rank 10 skill to level5, or 10 rank1 skills to level5. both take the same time(assuming theye all use the same atributes) and give(need?) the same amount of skillpoints.
