I heard a raven works well so if you can afford faction than a Caldari Navy Raven would own them, but you will lose any ship very quickly if you do not have extremely uber combat skills.
Level 4 missions are designed for teamplay and to do them solo you have to have VERY high SP in combat skills.
The CNR has excellent resists against most of the damage angels do(i am pretty sure you fight angels in minmatar space) and you can pick your damage type so thats always a plus.
In Kali Uber Tier 3 battleships are coming out along with T2 battleships so you may want to train your combat support skills till then, and specialize when Kali gets here.
Until then if you don't have 10-20mill SP completely dedicated to combat skills level 3 missions WILL be just as profitable as 4s. If you can pair up with someone you should be able to do level 4s NP though. ******************** Join Public Channel "Christian Public Access" for great fellowship and fun |

I run the easy to normal matari lvl 4's in a bog standard raven fitted with cruise. You do need the occasional refit to siege for the tougher "boss" type npc's. I use the raven as a cheap ship, there is nothing better than named stuff fitted. I can use tech II drones but often use tech I for price reasons, I only have lvl 4 in all the relevant cruise and torp + support missile skills. You see most of my training is dedicated toward projectiles, which currrntly aren't exactly viable for deadspace missions.
I would agree that there is almost as much money to be made in lvl3's nowdays though.

Edited by: Malkavian Spirit on 27/01/2006 12:13:05 thanx for the replys, i guess i will go for a raven with some nice stuff fitted, im just worried about the em dmg that the rats chould do.
But i really wanted to try a machariel with two large noses, two large armor repairers and a gisti 100mn ab, what do you guys think is it a viable setup ?

SO UNTRUE... the tempest or the machariel are my favorite lvl4 mission battleships. and properly setup most lvl4 republic fleet mission are soloable with either ship.. Not all missions but most are soloable with these ships.

Yeah, go raven. No reason to fly the ships you trained the skills for.
Okay, siege launcher Phoon has less damage output, but with the bigger drone bay you can rip through most spawns pretty fast too. --*=*=*-- Megadon CCP wanted a well known artist and celebrity to test the new font so it's approval would be well known. They got Ray |

i'm not a owner of a marchial, but my tempest setup for encounter missions (not deadspace) is: HI: 6x 1400mm tech2 (titanium and emp) 2x empty (would recommend 2x assault launcher + defender) ;P
MED: 1x 100mn afterburner tech2, 3x trackingcomp tech2 1x sensorbooster tech2
Low: 1x PDU tech2 4x Gyrostab tech2
Dronebay: hobgoblins
i also have advanced weapon upgrade at lvl5 so i have enough powergrid for this setup. Warp at 100km and kill this frigs first (most time 1 gun per frig O.o...awesome). The missions "Infiltrated outpost, rouge drone" works also fine with this setup! In other deadspace missions im always with a mate, so can't give you good setup. But expect to change your setup a few times in missions like Angel Extravaganze, will be faster than a allroundsetup...i guess...

from the l4 wallkthrough topic:
6 sige 2 heavy nos/guns depending on cap skills
1 large shieldbooster 1 shield booster amp 3 active hardners 1 cap recharger/afterburner/sensorbooster (change to fit your needs for the mission your doing)
5 power diagnostic units t2
i'm using that at the moment, and as the maker of the topic that it is taken from says it's a realy good setup for doing l4's works prefectly
change to crusie launchers if you are about to jump into a big crusier spawn and change the hardners acording to rats

This is what works for me on many of the Fleet level 4s, but I've done a lot of missions to learn when to shoot what (tactics are just as important as setup for hard missions). Plus I have decent NPCing skills, so your mileage may vary.
For non-DS and non-aggro DS missions:
High 6 X 1400mm (Proton for most rats at 75 to 100k range, Fusion for Angels that are closer) 2 X assault/rocket depending on rats (rocket with defenders for torp/cruise spammers can save you a lot of damage)
Mid 1 X 100 AB 1 X large shield booster 1 X sensor booster 2 X tracking comp
Low 2 X PDU 3 X Gyro 1 X damage control 1 X tracking enhancer
Medium drones
This setup is for fast missioning. The Mach also makes a good armor tank and that would likely be a wiser starting point.
Try to snipe fast approaching frigs/cruisers first. If they are reaching you, decide if you'll be able to drone/missle them out - if in doubt, warp before they get to you. At the same time, you may need defenders for torp/cruise spammers.
And if you decide to solo, be prepared to pay the price, especially when learning the missions :)
