Close the eve client and navigate to your eve install folder 'program files\ccp\eve' I think is default. I run several installs of the client so I choose to install in a custom folder... Once you find the base eve folder navigate to the '\cache' folder under that and open 'prefs.ini' Inside that file you need to add 'advancedDevice=1' to the top line (I say top just because the other settings are all stored in alphabetical order, though it probably doesn't matter).
Once you add the new option to prefs.ini you can load eve again then press the escape key to bring up the Escape menu and go to the 'Graphics' tab, there you fill find some new options on that page under the 'Adapter & Device' section. Specifically for Antialiasing you are looking for the 'Multisample Type' settings. The options in the list are a little bit on the non-descript side just select them each till you find one that sticks and offers the level of anti-aliasing you want. So far I have not noticed any setting to control the AF (Anisotropic Filtering) in game, but it should handle the Anti-Aliasing anyway. The 'Present Interval' setting is what controls the V-Sync option as best I can tell. When I set mine to 'Interval Immediate' I get no fps cap. When set to 'Interval One' the game is fps capped at 60 fps, which matches my Del FPW2405 refresh rate of 60hz.
In fullscreen mode there are more Interval settings other than Immediate, One and Default... such as Interval Two, Interval Three, and Interval Four. What they do I have no idea.
Ofc, the other option is to manually set your drivers to override the game settings and force the settings you want. Which ever works best for you is what you should use. (:
Good luck.

In simple terms, it takes jagged edges and softens them by combining slight color alterations to make the edge apear more smooth. For more in-depth articles you can use Google (:

Very good info, I'd suggest a mod move this over to the New Citizen's Q&A or Known Issues & Workarounds.
Been playing for over a year now and didn't know about this and hadn't bothered to force my card into AA/AF settings. This little tidbit made a noticable improvement. Devs need to enable this by default and decrypt the settings.

Edited by: Razin on 29/01/2006 21:36:42 I've found that forcing AA and AF from the drivers gives better results (quality and fps -wise). I run with AAx4 and AFx16.
Another anomaly is that with certain drivers the driver AA setting does not consistently take effect within the game (my in-game AA setting is always "disabled"). I don't know why that is.
My setup is with ATI Rad9800 Pro 128, and cat 4.12 drivers seem to give the least amount of problems.
