I've been playing Eve for a couple months i pretty much like combat and doing missions. Currently i'm running lvl3 combat missions for a high quality agent and making pretty nice isk/LP. I heard a lot about COSMOS but honestly i've never been in a Cosmos constellation and i've never talked to a Cosmos agent. Now my questions are: Why work for Cosmos agents? Is it worthwile? What rewards can you possibly get? Can i start doing Cosmos missions with a Brutix or Domi and 3+ mill SP?
And anything else you may want to add.
Cheers, Jarek

Personally I would like to just know the starting point...fly to the constellation and hope you find an agent in space?

If your not trained in HAC or AF skills, or not teamed up for the missions, then don't bother. Most of the complex's/missions are very tough. The most rewarding thing about Cosmos is the rapid increase in Faction standings and the implants if your lucky enough to be offered any. --- Cosmos Primer | R&D-Market idea |

Cosmos can be fun, or exasperating. Depending on your skills.
The missions are labeled "Intermediate" in difficulty, but the reality is that they are for advanced players.
Grouping is required. The missions consist of a lot of fighting in ship class restricted complexes.
Some complexes will only allow tech-1 frigates and destroyers. Some, up to tech-2 frigates, the highend complexes allow heavy assualt cruisers. No battleships in most, if not all.
If you are not highly skilled, then you need some cheap replacement ships handy, and friends.
The rewards I took from Cosmos were not worth tons of ISK. The missions were challenging, and made fun in the respect that I had a number of ship losses.

1. Fly to the constelation 2. See is there any deadspace beacon 3. Fly to becon 4. Talk to agent (need to be less then 15km distance)
Note: Not all deadspace beacon contain COSMOS agents. In fact, only about 50% do. Other contain gates to plex or rats.

I would say it's worth the hassle!!
I've done all Amarr Cosmos agents, did it all last week . Regarding standings I've gotten approx +2.0 in Amarr Empire + Ammatar faction standing from doing those missions. In addition I've gotten 11 implants!!
2 x +4 Intelligence 1 x +4 Charisma 1 x +4 Perception 1 x +3 Perception 4 x +3 Willpower 1 x +3 Charisma 1 x +2 Perception
The difficulty of the missions in high, as someone mentioned the accel gates only allows frig and cruisers sized vessels, NOT Battlecruisers and BS. The majority of the Cosmos missions I've done in a Maller cruiser(can't fly HAC) With great success and no losses
All in all, I've gotten help from friends doing 2 missions! Both were from LVL4 Cosmos agents. So to begin with stay off the LVL4's and you'll do fine in a cruiser if the setup is right and your tactic is sharp!
If someone wants setup, guidance etc. feel free to EveMail me in game...

I been doing the amarr cosmos, In and Maller with T2 items, it is hard but you need a very good tank and good gunnery skills. It is best when you got an corp mate or wait for some one to come to gate and ask if they r doing the mission...
I best to find it you got HAC with t2 items, (something that I love to have) but of u want edge of ur seat action and stress out if you can make it get an maller t2 items and hope like hell you can make it...
Some people have Music or MP3....I collect EvE videos that I watch during downtime...oh well... My top 5 videos and worst top 5 videos coming soon!. |

good info - still got a bit of skill training (archeology and hacking) before i start these, but after reading this info I think i'm gonna have to bring forward getting a HAC. I was gonna get one anyway - but its better to have a good use for a new ship :D

I've completed all the level 2 missions in Araz very comfortably with my AF (Wolf). The only thing that I haven't been able to do with it is kill the NPC Battleships solo. They can't break my tank but even with two named Gyrostabs and 4x 150mm Autocannon IIs, I can't break their tank Will probably need a HAC for the 3 and 4s. Hopefully by the time I have enough standing to use them, I'll have the isk to be able to afford the HAC _______________________

Spartan ->
The whole story of Amarr Cosmos missions in about the Blood Raiders infecting the area. I think there was 1 time I had to kill some Gallente Navy ships, the standing loss was not that big, exept for the Blood Raiders of course. I think I have -8.09 with the Blood's now

Thanks a million for the info.
So would a Zealot be a good HAC for doing the amarr constellation missions?
I recently moved to amarr space and need another 2.5 standing to use the level 3 agents out here so this might be the key(I have over 9.0 standing with caldari but the lag is too bad ). ******************** Join Public Channel "Christian Public Access" for great fellowship and fun |

Zealot is fine, I've seen many here doing the mission in that ship. I used a Maller, so a Zealot must be uber compared

Edited by: Red5x5 on 29/01/2006 10:24:16 I've done my last COSMOS mission ever I don't care if they drop +10 implants. We did Taru Kubona and we had to go find 4 mech parts..easy yea? 1000 jet cans in space later (and I aint kidding) and 5 hours in and we have 4 need 4 more (2x mission) Hacking is all bugged to hell. My buddy had to logg off 3x to try and clear the hacking can bug. 3x Heavy tanked AF could barely keep up with all the mass of frigs that waved in so fast 9x outa 10 the info was " the can is gaurded" Clicking and killing so many frigs both our arms are numb from playing.
This was a lvl 1 mission. The first time we go it done we lost the bonus (1 hour) and it paid 40,500.00 isk
We made a mil on bountys (off 4000-5000 k rats...yea we killed THAT many) (Split 3 ways)
I'd rather mine veld (ick) than EVER EVER EVER go back into a cosmose mission.
Stupidest thing I have ever seen.
Edit: maybe not with 10-15 AF at once but 3 no way not worth it ===========================

Oh, one other question. When a cosmos complex is limited to cruisers does that include HACs like normal complexes or is only allowed in some, and some are just cruiser? ******************** Join Public Channel "Christian Public Access" for great fellowship and fun |

Originally by: Spartan III Oh, one other question. When a cosmos complex is limited to cruisers does that include HACs like normal complexes or is only allowed in some, and some are just cruiser?
The only complexes that allow HACs are the high end ones. These complexes will have NPC battleships in them.
The next one down, only allows tech-1 cruisers, and smaller.
The acceleration gates are not labeled with what is allowed to enter. So the best way to find out this information is to take a battleship, or maybe your pod, and try and enter a complex. You will get a popup message stating that ship class is not allowed, and it will tell you what ship classes are allowed.
Make notes of what each complex allows, so when you are sent to these complexes on a mission, you won't waste time jumping there only to find the ship you are flying is not allowed, or jumping in with a ship that get toasted in seconds.
Be advised. There are NPC warp scrambling frigates present in many of these complexes.

So can an AF go into all the complexes? i was thinking i would just use an AF in all of the ones except the ones that you can use HAC.
Also, what skills do you need? I heard you need a hacking skill or something? ******************** Join Public Channel "Christian Public Access" for great fellowship and fun |

Spartan and co interested in COSMOS, read Illuvator's guide. Failing that, read the mission forum sticky, it has a wealth of insight.
Everyone new to Cosmos is under the misconception that they need Archeology and Hacking to participate in it. This is 99% false! The Cosmos agents found throughout the two constellations will on the most part give you missions to seek out items that are dropped by rats or found in complex structures.
Keep in mind however many of these missions are nigh impossible by yourself and traditional agent level rankings do not apply! If memory serves, many prohibit AFs. Your best bet are faction frigs, some good corpmates and an ounce of humility.

I believe you can use an AF in most constellations, but there is a complex in the Ani Constellation that only allows Frigates and destroyers. I managed to navigate it in a well tanked Punisher, but had a Destroyer escort me in until I could manage the spawns on my own. --- Cosmos Primer (ingame) | R&D-Market idea |

I really don't believe how lucky some people are.this is almost impossible to my ears.i am not sayin that i don't believe you.No don't get me wrong.....but....Amarr constelation got about 22 agents and u got 11 implants? Not to mention the lvl 1's that they not ussualy give implant rewards..And u did that all in cruiser???? we need to do gangs of 3 or more and use specific tactics to finish those plexes with 2 bs 20 cruisers and 20 frigs inside ,insane fast respawn rate +limited to assault frigs gate entry. i did the whole minmatar and got one +4perception one +3 charisma one+3 willpower and one or two +2 implants..
Wth is goin on?
Is amarr cosmos so easier and with so good rewards than caldari and minmatar?
