Rancer.... you may have heard of it, 6 jumps out of Jita, you may have been there, and most likely if you have you'll have lost your ship or had a good fight. In which case you will have heard of 'The United [BL3H]' - part of the Negative Ten alliance. They have lived in Rancer for 6 years and boast 3 out of the top 5 pod killers in the whole of eve.
But in a recent turn of events, The United has left their long time home.
No statement has been made by officials from the United.
Stay tuned for more developments.
P.S. : Angry23 is the coolest and best looking dude in eve online :) |

First a few of them them turned up near my home claiming to be on holiday. Then I saw their POS got blown up in Rancer. Then these dudes leave neg ten for NPC corp.
I thought something was up lol. |

The problem here is much deeper than The United leaving Rancer. And it's called multiboxing.
If someone can run , let's say, 20 accounts at the same time, flying identical ships with an incredible alpha, this person will be able to do almost everything without any risks or consequences. It's like playing Eve in "safe" mode.
And the sad thing is that CCP approves (or at least prentent to no see) this. Not fair game, and any dumbass with enough money to run 20 accounts will turn invulnerable and also overpowered.
This is something like: "I have money, CCP loves money and go to hell who don't like this"

Let me be perfectly clear in stating that my posting here is not as a representative of the united. I'm posting here as a *still* united member and not behind an alt, but the opinions following shall be mine and not in any way an official statement of the united.
Also, the above poster does certainly sound like someone who might have been involved in the story. If so, I don't understand the alt-posting, as there's no reason to be hiding on the topic.
I disagree that the problem lies solely in software assisted multi-boxing of large amounts of accounts. While it is a factor that certainly plays a role, the core problem is members. CommanderWorf should know the situation before posting garbage. While the united (as correctly stated) *HAD* 100 members ON PAPER, it didn't have them in *real people*. Far less so during the time all the events occurred.
Let's face it, we would be able to field possibly 3 people, 4 tops those days. So the core problem is members. Software assisted multi-boxing just adds to the mix.
That's about it.
Now, some people may or may not have their issues with the vanished Katie Door, so be it. Keep Rancer, enjoy it, wait for Katie and have fun. That's what I think.
There's also no point in replying much to me here (feel free to evemail me or convo me for further exchanging thoughts), as I won't be replying in this thread anymore. It didn't get much attention, and (my opinion) the bumping didn't help much either.

We jumped into and slow-motion warped an absolution ship gang past that rancer isboxer guy the other day without losing anything to the ~20 tornados.
Apparently, the overviews don't seem to sync exactly and he couldn't focus his alpha - effectively making it slightly worse than having 19 other dudes with you.
ps. The United can rent onatoh off us. |

Last time Legion of alts came by our home system in his 20 tornadoes, we undocked in 5 frigates, which kept him locked up in our home system for hours, all while we laughed our rear ends off as he had no way to counter our 5 frigs other than going back home in pods or wait till we logged. Sol you cant really say it cant be countered. Had we caught a tornado or 2, they would have gone down in a fire from said frigates and the accounts wouldnt be syncronized anymore.
With that said, I find it amazing and kinda impressive that he runs 20 accounts just to set up a gatecamp.
Also, I think he has been blue to united, but that might have changed? |

This is the problem with 'old skool' pirates, all they know is how to gank. Wait at safe spot - pounce - gank thats it, absolutley no pvp skill needed and when someone comes along and actually ganks them back they simply do not have the skills or knowledge to form a proper fleet to combat said intruders, pathetic really. thats why KB stats mean sweet fa in my book.
Its a little ridiculous if its true that its one guy multiboxing (oh and dont blame isboxer, good on him that one guys as the ability to fight back, plus hes playing for all those accounts) tbh its funny as hell if hes doing that and forcing an whole alliance out of their home. try forming ships that can combat said intruder, honestly its not that hard, falcons are pro you know! 5 falcons can perma jam 20 ships! think about it..! |
