I've read that you can use dual monitors with this game, basically I've got a tv out on my card aswell which goes upto the 1024 resolution, so firstly could I use my tv as the second monitor. And then what does the second monitor display, game wise? Thanks for any help you can give

Dual monitors does not work real well.
I was hoping dual monitors would allow you to have the view of your ship and space on one montior, and drag all those widows to the other.
Not the case, it just spilts the veiwport right down the middle so your ship is cut in half.
Extremely useless, don't even know why they have the option.
They really need to work on it. I don't like running in windowed mode, cause of the graphics performance degredation, so my second 21" monitor is useless (even for surfing the net) while playing EVE. Quite annoying.

Get a better gfx card then...
I can run two clients windowed, with no lag, bad fps etc.
I also can browse the net on another monitor at the same time.
Sometimes I watch movies on one monitor whilst playing eve on the other.
I only have a GeForce 4200 128mb ti (i think) I do have 1 Gb Ram, oh and I switched the sound off on one client, because of the bad memory leaks of the EVE Audio subsystem.. (smacked hand to CCP)
But yeh, windowed EVE works real well here.
If you want more info reply here, and maybe I can give you advice?

Well, I have a FX5900 Ultra (256mb RAM)
I notice a FPS decrease in windowed mode.
I am running win2k as an OS though...
But I do use NVRefresh...

I've been using two lcds at once and I've found it to be excellent. Only detriment is that your ship and small HUD on the bottom are split in half. It's really a minor point and something you get used to very quickly. Every other interface in the game seems to treat the dual screen setup well. It's definately worth having twice as much space to work with. --- The Tarsis Shriners |
