As of today EVE-Files is experimenting with BitTorrent as an alternative way of downloading the files.
Currently EVE-Files admins can chose the option to create a torrent when verifying the files uploaded (only files bigger than 50MB can be torrented).
So for all you movie makers that make big files BT will also be a way to obtain the files.
This is just a test for now since I am planning for the future. I still have plenty of bandwidth available so this is not an issue however with the steady increase of traffic (currently I have an average of 250GB per day) I will have to look into upgrading to gigabit in the near future, that's why I decided to try this alternative as well.
Slowly but surely all older files will be torrentized as well, but for now only newer files will be.
This is all done automatic when an admin approves the file, so you still need to upload your files the normal way.
I have as of now NO plans to only use BT for the distribution so you cannot upload torrents yourself.
But we'll see how things move on and go further from there.

I am running on my own modified BNBT version called 'WarpGate' and I have surely made some errors in the code that will affect performance an other things.

You really need to moderate your files, i've noticed alot of copyrighted songs being uploaded recently.

There will always be at least 1 seeder namely EVE-Files itself since it will auto seed when creating a torrent.
As for copyrighted songs (etc), we are moderating the files and removing as swiftly as possible :)
In case you feel it goes too slow with the removal of bad content let me know and I will recruit some more admins.
