Ok i was flying a Moa in Uusanen 0.4 to go through a stargate. As i am there I see a guy on Tristan trying to fight some collectors...for some reason he gets a - in his security status and locks me (yellow threat) my ship auto lock backs....i see he is losing his hip so i begin to shoot at those collectors and the strangest thing in the world happens....the sentry guns shoot me so i loose my ship and the other guy too....any GM please contact me...i am very angry for this flaw and i wish that any gm who reads this contacts me.....my ingame name is diddilitli and i am in mendax corporation. !

I'm a newb, what are collectors? Are they npc pirates of some sort? I just read here that many people are losing their ships because sentry guns shoot them after they fire at NPC pirates by a gate. So it seems to be a bug.
I would suggest not to fire at anyone, even if you can, if near a sentry gun, especially around a gate.
So is that what happened

If he truly only showed up as a yellow threat, he had not yet locked you. Yellow merely indicates a negative security status. If you locked him up first, if you still had him locked up while you tried firing at another target, your weapons probably just shot at him instead. This is why the sentrys took you down.
Situational awareness is absolutely critical when engaging in combat. Don't know if the GMs are gonna give you anything back.

The golden rules of engagement:
Yellow = The guy have negative securityrating Orange = The guy have locked onto your ship Red = The guy shoots at you.
Following rules must be followed if you want to avoid CONCORD killing you:
* DONT SHOOT UNTIL THREAT IS RED!!
* Only shoot *first* at people with -5 rating and below (this is not 100% sure cause its borked so I advice to NEVER shoot first)
* If threat is red and the guy have fired a missile - wait for it to impact before shooting back!
* DONT use missiles/Smartbombs close to stations & gates cause splash damage can hit the station/gate and then Concord will kill you.
* Be suspicious of low sec pirates in n00b ships just hanging around cause they're probably a bait and their friend in a BS warps in and smacks you to death while you pop his n00b ship. (if he is ganged the fellow gang members can freely attack you)
I repeat this
* NEVER SHOOT UNTIL THREAT IS RED!

I¦m afraid there is nothing they can do, cause no one gets back his ship because of bugs or server crashes. It¦s a brashness!
The same happens if you try to destroy a PK under -5.0 sec. level(-4.5 for ex.) who haves a bounty in his info and you¦re attack him in a high sec. system. That¦s stupidity and I can not retrace what the devs thought by implementing this feature.

I¦d not count on gang-functionality working! Last time we did, concord shot one of our ships. ***********************************************

are you sure that what you fired on was a blood collecter and not his combat drones. also you said that there was a target lock on him. was it flashing when you fired. if so you shot him.

Can't say this is what happened, but there are players who have named themselves after NPC pirates. It's possible you were attacking a player with a piratical name... the sentry guns don't like that.
NPC's are pluses (+) and players are []'s or ::'s (as I recall.)

That's not true, I personally know 2 people that have been reimbursed after losing their battleships to bugs (not CTD). It happens, but it isn't all that common. Really depends on the situation.

is it possible a missile strayed and hit the gate, or even the blast radius hit the gate or the sentry guns, this too can set them off.

The devs said that if the sentry guns fire, they do so for a reason. Anyway, if you want to get in contact with the GMs you have to file a petition. Do that by clicking petitions button in the "menu" to your left (or right if you have it there). Then select new petition and fill out a petition in the "other" category.
