In Science and Industry, play with the filters to make sure that you have selected "me" and "station" and that your blueprints are at the same station as your character (unless you have necessary skills for distance work). Choose "manufacturing". You should get a quote for job.
Then click "Install" and you should get a choice of blueprints (having made sure you have enough minerals!). Then "finish" (I think ). Should start the new job.
Hope that this helps.

I saw a squirrel today jumping from one tree to another, the branch it landed on snapped. So the squirrel was on this falling branch, clambering like mad, thinking it was doing something about it.'

The game has to generate a quote for the blueprint before it will show on the Blueprints tab.
You probably can't see any Installations because the range for the Installations is set too low. Set it to Region, and you'll HOPEFULLY see something (that, or you're in a baaaaaad region for building).

This may be a stupid question, but you do have the Industry skill, don't you?

Make sure you have BPs and minerals in the same station. Check to make sure that there are factories at the station and that it can produce the type of good you want to manufacture. Click on the science and industry tab in the station interface, and set your filters to manufacture, region, and all that good stuff. Pick an installation at the station you are in, you'll now see a list of factories in that station, you're looking for one that has a green NOW next to it. Double click on that factory and follow the steps, make sure you choose 'My Blueprints' if they are in your hangar (make sure they are in your hangar not your ships cargo hold) or 'Corp Blueprints' if they are in your corp hangar. Follow the rest of the steps. When the job is complete remember to deliver it or it will sit in the factory collecting dust.
If you're looking for a production corp, look me up in game.
