I want to thank CCP for the great job done with the Vargur bastion transformation which is undoubtedly the best the best. Great creativity. I have not seen the Paladin's one, but I not expect that to be anywhere close to this. Ideology -ás-h-i-t -álist https://gate.eveonline.com/Profile/Gel%20Musana

huh? Are we looking at the same thing? The vargurs wings got some flaps. Thats not a transformation, its someone closing the shutters The megas is the equivalent of a lowrider car driving around with the hood up to show off the engine. The golems... Yeah.
Or maybe you were sarcastic? |

It's quite creative and totally unexpected. In fact I was wondering what the transformation could look like. The Golem one is nice-ish, the Kronos is cool-ish, but the Vargur one is cool and it makes sense. Ideology -ás-h-i-t -álist https://gate.eveonline.com/Profile/Gel%20Musana

I've seen far too much complaint on the transformations. They are a bit underwhelming from what was expected and hyped about, but still pretty OK and sensible. I imagine players were thinking of a total transformation like some lament configuration or whatnot, which while cool, would've also been pretty stupid. The ships even if 'transforming' must still maintain a common plane of balance/gravity, if sections turned over or angled then that would cause some massive crew problems and communications about what's now port side and such. And yes, capsuleer ships DO have crews, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. |

They're better than the triage animations, and most of the siege ones. Stop complaining.
(Disclaimer, I haven't seen the bastion animations. I have seen the capital ship ones though, which is enough to make that statement.) |

My only complain is they could a Little bit more eye catchy, its hard to see the difference at some distance.
For example some lights on the sweet spots. |

The last thing I heard from a dev on the Golem's animation is that it's not complete yet.
The Vargur has no glowy bits and the flaps that cover the sails seem to be incomplete, not to mention the weird bit under the neck that slides forward for no apparent reason. I strongly suspect more details are going to be added.
The Paladin isn't in yet, so no comment.
The Kronos has a nice animation, honestly. Nobody ever mentions anything except the forward flaps, but the middle section also slides forward a significant amount while the strange drone-control pod on the port side descends a bit and the bridge partially retracts into the hull. Try watching the whole ship and not just the obvious shiny part.
Also consider that these animations can't take all that long. They're supposed to finish quickly because you're using this mode in combat - much smaller-scale combat than dreads and carriers are in - where you haven't got a lot of time to wait around for this stuff. |
