Sorry no, dread cannot enter high sec system. They can only travel to other system with cynosural field, meaning somebody has to open a personal "Jump gate" to allow the dread to jump.
However, if a dread built in high space. It's pretty much can be used, but cannot jump to another high sec. So if you built in Jita, looks like it stuck in that system only.

u've never seen a dread die then, dreads aren't good ship to ship combatants, put it this way most dreads have been taken out by frigs and cruisers, dreads were designed with one purpose in mind, pounding pos's into dust. not ship to ship

Can we get some more info on this please? your verbose comment are so clear and fine I can't even guess which question you answered...
But I would love to see a dread let alone see it die... then i would love to see most low sec bound ships! Sniff sniff

Jump into 0.4 and lower.
Quote: cud 1 get into oursuleart?
No.
While they are PRIMARILY for siege work, Dreads can blow the crap out of a BS if you target paint / web them. The new drones make them scary in the hands of a capable pilot.
In addition, the moment that you start seeing a lot of Carriers in enemy fleets, you'll see Dreads showing up to pop them.

Trust me, you can create a beast if properly fitted and funded ISK wise. But this goes at the expense of tanking and one single enemy dread will ruin your day.
So my point being, if you control the terms of engagement and can avoid hostile dreads, nothing can touch you.

true but you need a superbly skilled pilot, and a credit to one who can bush whack a fleet of smaller ships. Yet too see it though.
And for those that havent seen a dread or a dread blowing up in battle theres a video on eve files of it from eve radio... can't rember the file name though sorry

A Thanatos.
Actually, while I think the Moros is the most flexible, each has a niche it fills quite well. There is no "I Win" button really. -

Actually, T20 posted that you can build in high sec in a POS just not in an NPC station.
