Hey.
My character is trained for mainly Caldari Ships and Torpedos, he can even fly a Caldari Titan, Carrier or Dreadnaught, but after investing all this time it feels like I've picked the wrong race to train for. The whole deal with our missile travel time, non-instant damage and missing volleys when a target dies seems to screw us over a little. Torpedoes don't quite shine as much as turrets when hitting things smaller than Battleships either. Aside from the Rattlesnake (which requires a lot of training to really shine, including considerable drone training and cross-training into Gallente) the Tengu (Swiss-army knife of T3s) and the RNI (competing with the Mach for king of missioning) I'm not quite sure what I'm going to be that useful for, particularly when considering Capital ships (aside from bridging...).
Let me know your reasonable opinions.

RS is not a missile boat, so missile pilots need a pirate faction missile BS and cruiser, at least to start with. 99% of all titan's are used solely for bridging, so it doesn't matter which race titan you have. Cross training is inevitable, I would suggest going amarr and lasers. Its easy now to switch to another races dread and carrier, just 1 skill book. Turrets for the dread will take some time. This will open up the NM also.. . |

In terms of capital ships Caldari is generally behind the pack but not really because of missiles (except Phoenix, because Citadel Torps are horrible) and more because capitals are biased toward armor ships.
For sub capital ships, Caldari missile boats are actually in a very good place right now, they are unpopular for fleet doctrines because of the delayed damage issue, but in small gangs or PvE they have excellent range, good dps, and damage selectability as well as being able to mount solid shield tanks with no compromise on mobility.
Condor, Kestrel, Hookbill, Hawk, Corax, Caracal, Navy Caracal, Cerberus, Drake, Nighthawk, Raven and Golem are all very good ships and can fill many roles very well. With some being the best at what they do like the Hawk has the best frigate active tank, Hookbill is one of the best scram kiters (though Daredevil is better but 8x the cost), Caracal and N.Caracal are the best anti-frigate cruisers, Drake has the best BC shield tank etc. |

The navy Caracal is more of an anti-Cruiser weapon since it cannot mount RLMs effectively but has a handy application bonus for HAMs. Also, don't forget the definite de-frigger king, the XLASB RLM Cerb...C: |

Heavy Missiles were a little overnerfed and Torpedoes might need a little love, but other than missiles are still great in the subcapital meta. When it comes to capitals, the Phoenix is just outdone by everything and the Leviathan does okay at what titans do (bridge things). No sig. |

Caldari have great skills for cap ships but you have to rethink the purposes of them.
They are not the best logi carrier and almost everyone uses carriers for logi. Due to certain youtube videos.
Entirely different reasons needed to fly Caldari. The carrier is the best Alpha carrier in game.
This means when you plan on using only 1 carrier and hope to just level the field with sentry drones before any other cap ships can get on the field. Mainly used to drop into BS fights or into fights where your group already has plenty of established logi.
If you max skills and mods you can do more damage with sentries in a carrier than you can with fighters! All that damage can land on very small ships. |

There seem to be a lot of concerns with Caldari ships and missiles at the moment. First, missiles are a great weapon system, i think the benefits of them are really underestimated. Furthermore, you do of course realize that half of the Caldari ships use hybrid weapons right? And you of course trained this weapon system, before training Titans right?
If not, well that's your problem right there. |

Condor us currently crapping all over everything it can catch. Caracals are one of the best cruisers in the game. Despite the nerdrage over it the drake is still very popular. Navy raven is brutal in pve AND pvp now. Ppl are learning how mean it is in pvp slowly. Other races missile ships are also amazing now. Missiles are in a better place then they have been in years. Torps need some work, but that rhml is destroying everything in sight on sisi atm. Capital missiles are definetely useless. Theyre getting to that though. |

These two (3?) facts are the main problems IMO.
Citadel Torps need some help, either from a ship bonus or a tweek on their stats. |

From my experience as a PVE player mostly.... if there was no Cerberus, I would have nothing to dream about and no reason to ever try out PVP........ long live the easy button. |
