I'm thinking the same, conflag everything and there mother to death, ditch the MJD for MWD, use a Tach nightmare where conflag is ineffective.
The way I see it i'm already enjoying INMF out to around 44k optimal with my nightmare no problems at all, so I could easily put another 250 dps on top of that and reduce range to 36k with a pulse Paladin.

With this added range bonus it would allow higher damage short range crystals. Does anyone think after the changes that the Paladin will be close to the Nightmare for running missions?
It's loosing the web bonus but webs seem pretty useless in missions because the bonus doesn't help range and if frigates get that close I can just use light drones.
The Paladin is very strong on sisi, EM weak rats ? why use anything other than a Paladin. The immunity to E-war means no more TD/damping/jamming which can plague other ships.
I tried making webs work for solo lvl 4 work on a Paladin, At best the webs slowed down the frigs that got close enough for my drones to kill a bit faster, better to use the mid slot for something else (MJD/TC).
Bottom line is I will be flying the very good hassle free mega pulse Paladin next patch.

I love it, and actualy pumps out a bit more dps, but at closer range, never realy run into trouble, you have to adapt the hardeners according to what missions you are in. You can fit a mwd if you like if you dont want the tracking computer. |

Tried both Pulse and Tachys. Still preferring Pulse. Tachys mostly does to much overkill that negates their better dps. |

Hell yeah they are. I just wish you could select 'Jump Range' (like setting 'orbit at' or 'keep at distance') |

Interesting that this discussion brings up the Nightmare ,for myself I live in a wormhole and I don't think the nightmare compares after Rubicon pulses give you in bastion mode 77km optimal with scorch,83 +13 falloff with radio 1150 dps with conflag , ok the tank is massive which won't be needed in missions
Of course this doesn't even bring up |

On my level 4s. iI use a MJD an AB and a single SAR at a low slot NO OTHER TANK!!! I can finish missiosn without my non tanked shield layer be pierced 9 in 10 times.
If there is one thing good on new marauders is not the bastion tank, its the MJD cycle. "If brute force does not solve your problem..... -áthen you are -ásurely not using enough!" |
