What is going on some ppl must be realy stupid sell things for less money that the production cost is.... What brings this tell me? I can sell the ore for much more as a manufactured thing. Take the Uranium Charge S for an example You need:
minerals to make 100 UCS, sell the minerals 69 Tritanium 69 isk 75 Pyerite 300 isk 1 Mexallon 16 isk -------------------------------------------- 385 isk
so you got 100 uranium charges now and sell them for 3 isk each??? Hello?!? are you stupid?? Or what??
385:100= 3.85 is the minimum price for one. with no isk for you its like u sell the minerals
So what is the deal if you make them cheaper?? You only lost money. If the things are looted i understand this but not if this things are manufactured. I think it destroys the market. will move one with selling minerals till it gets better. You can make much more money this way.
I cant wait for the day the first one sells a cruiser for a frigate price.
Manufacturing is not the way to make money here its just the way how i can trash some money.

I can make those for 350 a batch, or 3.5 each, so 3 would be a loss for me too. Even if I figured that selling mex, I'd get less than full value for it, it only takes 1 mex - so that's only a couple isk difference.
One thought is that they picked them up in loot and don't need them, in which case they're essentially free to the player who got them and anything they get is gravy money. It might even be the case that they'd get more by selling them at 3 than they would by recycling the ammo.
My advice, buy the ammo up and sell it for a profit. After all, if you can buy it cheaper than you can make it and turn around and sell it for what you originally wanted to, that's a lot less effort.

How big amounts? Smaller amounts could very well originate from pirate drops.

"What is going on some ppl must be realy stupid sell things for less money that the production cost is...."
... I think part of the problem is, people indeed have trouble with determining the cost of materials used in production. AFAIK you can only do that reliably while the production is running (unless you feel like doing bunch of calculations by hand) and even then you have to manually look up the material prices, multiply by amounts, add them together etc.
Perhaps if there was some sort of summary screen after the production batch is done, with all those calculations done automatically and presented to the user, things would improve a bit? Selling below costs when one is clueless what their costs are is one thing, selling below costs while being aware one is losing money doing so is quite another. :s

For anyone that is into production and does it all the time you use just a simple spread sheet to keep track of this data and let the sheet do the work for you. Take it from me this saves much time. -- Datsevlu Blow'em up we'll build more.

Don't forget they may have gotten their minerals at under NPC cost which isn't rare. Common ***** I hear , people selling at below NPC manufacturing cost, who except NPC pays 256 for nox? Therefore people selling at whats a appears a loss may not be.
I sell my ore at NPC and someone with refine 5 and efficiency 5 buys it, refines it, sells off the NPC amount at NPC prices still has 25% of the refine left over for FREE. Anything he makes with that and then sells is at pure profit. STOP whining about not being able to get rich overnight making things. Until ccp artificially provides stimulus to the economy pyramid stratefication will exist which means a majority of players can barely eek out a profit while a tiny minority make big profits.
I have already complained that this "game" is for fun and modeling a real economy too much actually means MOST people are just working stiffs and only a very few enjoy the perks of success.
Instead of *****ing about an economy that better reflects a real one than most believe ***** about the fact that this is a game supported by players here to have fun and spending hour upon hour feeling like you are getting nowhere isn't fun.
(And no I seem to make as much isk as I need to get all the trinkets I desire. So I don't consider myself being deprived but rather don't believe most people will accept putting in the hours mining that I have. Maybe once but not twice[like if they had to replace a BS cause they went out to play with the nasty PK's ])

People are forgetting that Tech Lvl 1 items are supposed to be like low quality, everyday items. They are supposed to be cheap. Tech 2 is where you spend money to get the good equipment. And THAT is where the demand is going to exceed the supply, meaning it's a sellers market and they can sell at whatever price they want. (Example Miner 2's) ------------------- Basic truths? Idiots make us rich. - Some people are only alive because it is illegal to kill them. |

what stop you sell the "extra" 25% at npc price too? when you can sell more, you sell less, that's LOSS. If you don't have business mind, that's fine, but don't show it to public

If you mine your own minerals, there is no 'loss'. You may be able to make more selling the minerals to NPCs at NPC price, but you aren't losing ISK.
That said, this doesn't help the economy, IMO. Reduction in the NPC purchasing of minerals is definitely needed. "Salvation Awaits" - The Preacher |

A business mind .. **** off you rude jerk.
Mining isn't "free" the cost of mining your own ore is time. If it takes me 150 hours to mine enough ore for a BS, something easily lost in two minutes to a M0o blockade, I never would think of it as "oh well it was a free no cost ship anyway" because to get another free no cost ship it is going to cost me another 150 hours. Probably the REAL reason people get upset getting podded by pirates, the time involved it takes to replace what was lost usually at mind numbing occupations like mining.
