I don't understand if you're asking which you sshould fly or which would win in a fight.

I was asking what ship of these two would be better for PvP. the BB or the Caracal. this is strictly 1-1 as any large enough group can kill anything.
I know the Cara has more punch, but it is also known as fragile.
The BB has less fire power but has more meds and could be better tanked i think. also has tthe ecm bonuses... if they canno target yo9u, they cannot hit you.
On the other hand the caracal has bonus for range.......
SO, which of the two would win(most of the times) a 1-1 fight between pilots with similar skills ?

i think it would be a draw. no really. i do.
caracal can sit 80km out and be jammed. it can move in to 0m out and beat the crap out of the blackbird bc i dont think it can jam that close. but by the time the caracal gets close the blackbird will have been long gone. i dunno. i like both. -------------- now this is the way a sig should be Xio2 |

switch out the extender and booster for 2 more multispecs and it will win against any other T1 crusier 1 on 1... period...
err, unless you have REALLY bad luck and you never jam the enemy but that is VERY rare. ******************** Join Public Channel "Christian Public Access" for great fellowship and fun |

Why the hell people keep posting about stuff they dont even understand ? Another proof that in eve, you'd better try in game instead of believing what u can read in the forums. Ur matchup is a draw if the caracal pilot has fofs in cargo.

Trying to jam a caracal imho is a complete waste of cap.
If you went with the jamming option the caracal will eat you alive.
Just an opinion

Huh? A Caracal has a Sensor Strength of 15, so against someone with no Signal Dispersion skill in a Blackbird, used only T1unnamed, they have a 40% chance of Jamming per Jammer, so around 78.4% absolute Jamming percentage given a typical 3-Jammer setup with Gravatic Racials.
Even with Multispectrals a typical 3 Jammer setup is looking at 60%+ Jamming probability over the 3 Jammers, and that's before you account intelligent play with regards to relock and cycle timing, named/T2 modules and Signal Dispersion skill.
Now, the Blackbird might not be able to kill the Caracal in response, but a intelligent, skilled, well equiped Blackbird pilot is hard to take down, simply because they take relatively low damage and have the cap and cap recharge to make Judicious use of Shield Boosters.
To answer the OP: pretty much any cruiser vs. a Blackbird is going to be a stalemate. The Blackbird doesn't have the damage output to break any decent tank, and any decent level of skill at Jamming will make it essentially impossible for the enemy to break the Blackbirds cap regen. The only exceptions I can think of off the top of my head would be a Vexor or if the enemy pilot knows he will be facing a Blackbird he might be using an ECCM, which changes the odds in his favour.

Both ships have the mids to jam, but caracal has more punch. I'd probably go with caracal personally. Caracal has another advantage in the fact that it won't be called primary pr default.

Actually good caracal and cerb pilots carry a few spare FoFs just in case. ******************** Join Public Channel "Christian Public Access" for great fellowship and fun |

caracal With a sensor booster. More range, more bite and ECM doesn't affect it all that much from my own (limited) PvP experience. I guess it depends on exactly how well devloped your missile skills are.

Caracal is fragile and best to do ranged damage. 1 vs 1, the cara can't scram the enemy, so the enemy warps away before dead. Cara is good if you've go a tackler, but since your interest is 1 vs 1, blackbird. Play on it's strengths and jam the crap out of your enemy. 1 vs 1 there isn't much they can do jammed unless they are a big bad caldari and start firing FOFs.
