Well why not? We vote on who we want to see on the next series of CSM chats. And that person is ONE of the several CCP will pick to represent the playerbase.
There are quite a few l'd pick from the regulars, but for experience, intelligence, clarity and impartiality my vote's with:
Drunkenmaster.
Please add your own vote below and take part in the great democratic process!

Edited by: Jash Illian on 28/08/2003 01:59:21 Votes like that are popularity contests. And some people, who have the knowledge, would not be picked simply because they're not that popular.
Drunkenmaster is a good guy. But if PvP/Combat is to be discussed I'd actually pick Stavros. Setec for Piracy but he too lacks the sheen in the eyes of some in the forums.
Momm for manufacturers and markets? Nuh uh. I'd go with Relic or another single person entrepreneur that's giving the 'manufacturing' corps the indigestion they're suffering from. They know more about the markets than the corporations. Think about it a bit: A single person finds a way to cut everyone's prices, still meet the demand and still make a profit even though it's impossible for him to mine the required materials. Who knows more about the market: he who profits or she who complains about not being able to make a profit?
No. No votes and let's not start with popularity contests. I don't like the questions getting asked in the CSM meetings but I ain't crazy about tossing lit matches into a dynamite shed either.
I mean its like you want corporations to oblige each other like its sex or something. Pffft I would rather **** my enemy.- Rohann
Be careful out there. That other guy waiting in the queue for the gate MIGHT be a baby-munching frock-burner, YOU JUST DON'T KNOW!- Lallante |

Edited by: Gan Howorth on 28/08/2003 02:09:06 Jash, I was thinking more along the lines of someone who can be relied on to make some valid points and questions that are often brought up here, but never seem to reach the devs ears. "Er..corp wars are broken?" being a good example.
Thus it would NOT be a pirate rep, or a manufacturing rep but a FORUM rep. Someone who is well aware of what the forum participants view as serious issues and be likely to bring them up and not talk about stealing bloody bastard ore dog nammit!

Drunkenmaster is a reasonable chap who knows a bit about everything so he would be a good choice from my POV.

Whoever gets the position should each week start up a thread where ppl can post questions they think are important to them in the game.
That way the rep could scan through the questions and see if there are some that come up alot.

If the forums represent 5% of the playerbase, I'd be shocked. It's a safe bet half the people prolly don't even know they exist, given how much digging you have to go through to actually post.

I vote for both me and Drunkenmaster! Actually, I'd go for the rest of SI too. Let's just have a chat between my corp and the devs every week instead of CSMs. :)
Stavros knows plenty about PVP but he would waste his questions to jab insults at the devs. They would be something like, "as of the last patch, do any of you ever play the game?" Sort of a waste.
I think it is time for the pirate community to have a voice in the CSM chats, though. Pirates have a unique perspective from which we can quickly detect some imbalances that other players and even the devs might not notice. We also have many different concerns from the rest of the player community. ___________________________________________
