Hey all, and thank you for looking at my request.
I'd like to find out how to get to a spot in the middle of nowhere, within a solarsystem. Say there's a spot between two planets I bookmarked while warping. I warped to the BM and dropped a ship/shuttle/can there. Then, I lost the Bookmark. How do I get to that location? I know it's exactly 4.51 AU from planet Y in the direction of planet X. (Fortunately, planets don't orbit in EVE (I think?).) Is there something like sensor drones I can use?
Please help!

you can try warping from the planet with some cap drained so that you go about half way etc

Get someone that can launch and use probes to help you out. Ask on the help channel or maybe one of the race channels.
Free-form Professions, ensure no limetations on professions. Be a trader, fighter, industialist, researcher, hunter pirate or mixture of them all.

making a bookmark while in warp between 2 objects will give you a safespot BM, as apparently you did
if you lost the BM, you need to use scan probes to track down your belongings, and hope you get them before someone else

If you dropped a ship/shuttle you can ask someone to probe it down for you using scan probes.
Once he has a point within 1 au from the items it takes just a minute. Slightly more if his zstarting point is further out.
However, if you only dropped a can at that point, you can't get back there using probes, just by repeating what you did before and using the scanner to narrow the distance down untioll you land within sight of the can.

So I need to use scanner probes. Did some researching, apparently it's time to get the Astrometrics skill...

If it was a jet can you're wasting your time. Long gone by now.

It wasn't a jet can. It's a ship.

Oh, one more bit of advice then.
If it was a ship, make sure you wait out the time untill you get someone to scan it down (which beats training up the skills, you'll need more then lvl 1 to use most probes) in a system different from the one your ship is parked at.
Anyone reading this can gamble on it being worth all the hassle, do an agent search on you, and come get your ship before you do

Hey, just warp from planet X to planet Y. When your roughly 4~5au away back a bookmark then go back to it. Then use your scanner to find which direction the ship is in. Once you know, warp in that direction and back another bookmark. If the ship is between your bookmarks warp between them making another bm and rinse and repeat.
With a bit of time and effort you should close down on your ship til your close enough to get there using a fast frigate. No need for scan probes, though the skill is useful to have anyhow.

Probes are quite expensive so if it was a cheaply fitted frig, save yourself the ISK and time.

Works, I used that once to steal an enemy scorpion from a safe. But took me more than half an hour. Well, fun anyway. ___________ 'Only ships can be assembled, this is a Frigate.' |

Well, if it's not on a safe between two objects, then it becomes very time consuming and almost impossible, if the objects that have been used to make the safe aren't within the system plane. So it was luck and I only tried it, because I had the scorpion within 5 degree between two objects. ___________ 'Only ships can be assembled, this is a Frigate.' |
