I'm pretty new to the game and all for hearing advice. Does anyone have any suggestions on some cunning set-ups for the Caracal? I'm leaning towards railguns for the turrets, and does anyone have a summarized brief on the different types of turrets and what their advantages are? Thanks -------------------------------------------- Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana

No turrets. Go with 5 heavies. Well...since you are new you might want to see about 5 assault launchers. Myself I use 5 heavies, a sensor booster, 2 hardners, a shield booster and so on. -------------- now this is the way a sig should be Xio2

Edited by: Shadow Lord77 on 29/01/2006 05:51:27 Well I'm not that new, I can use Heavies and I've gone ahead and fitted them with it. But being Caladri, I'm wondering what I should put on Mid and Low-Slot places. I'm so confused with all the mid-slot options. I'm aiming to NPCing at the moment, might be moving to 0.0 in the next month or so. Thanks for the quick replies guys, I'm impressed! -------------------------------------------- Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana

A PvE setup I like: High: 5x Heavies Mid: Afterburner, Target painter, 2x rat specific hardeners, shield booster. Low: 2x ballistic control unit. Change target painter for shield extender when you know you're not going up against mean frigs. If you're ratting with someone with more firepower, change heavies for assaults and focus on the frigs while he takes the big ones.

Edited by: Cade Morrigan on 29/01/2006 15:37:26 I completed all parts of Technological Secrets (L3) last night in this Caracal setup: 5x 'Malkuth' Heavy Launchers with Scourge Missiles 1x AB, 1x Medium Shield Booster II, 1x Sensor Booster, 1x EM Hardener, 1x Thermal Hardener 2x BCU Had to warp out a couple of times in each of parts 1 and 3, but it went pretty quick.

Each and every single setup here would die if that caracal hunted in low-security and my punisher found it. Fit at least 1 medium nos or switch everything to assault launchers. You -need- anti-frigate protection. --------------

One thing I'd like to know is what the advantage is with using Target Painters and Sensor boosters? -------------------------------------------- Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana

Sensor Boosters allow you to lock on targets much faster and at longer range. Target painter lights up targets so their signature radius is bigger allowing your missiles to do more damage to targets smaller then missiles signature radius.

5 heavy launchers 1 Large shield extender 1 medium shield extender 2 rat specefic res amps 1 medium shield booster 1 small armor rep (no repair bills =) 1 PDU. I can take on 2 rat BCs and still have shield left over. U'll see me comin' from a mile off, igniting the skyline.

I've had excellent luck with this setup. Bear in mind it requires some skills to handle the load. . . Highs: 3x 'Malkuth' Assault launchers (Bloodclaws) 2x 'Malkuth' Heavies (Scourges) (If you're just rat-hunting versus doing missions, you can run 3/2 Heavy/Assault instead of 2/3 Heavy/Assault) Mids: 1x 10MN AB1, 1x Named Large Shield Booster, 1x Named Large Shield Extender, 1x Boost Amplifier I, 1x Any named passive shield hardener for whatever type of baddy you're fighting Lows: 2x PDU I. It zips through any L2 agent mission without ever taking armor damage if you time your shield boosting right.
