Hey all,
I've always loved space -- there's something very intruging to me about it. I remember i used to draw solar systems on paper, than color code them from hot, to cold, how much gravity a planet had, etc. I've always loved it because in space there is such a "huge unknown" feeling you get when thinking about it. Especially with things like black holes and stars that are millions of miles away that are really miles across in size.
I absolutley love playing EVE, because it really gives me the feeling that i'm in space with hundreds of thousands of people, and i can go anywhere i want -- see anything i want, and since there are so many different areas to explore in EVE, i can count on something new to experience everytime i logon. There's never really been any kind of game or simulation to give you that huge unknown feeling until EVE came out. Another reason i like EVE so much is because it's so much different than any other MMORPG out there. Games like World of Warcraft, Guild Wars, Rose Online, Runescape, etc are my pet peeve - i absolutley hate them. They are so boring. You play for hours on end with a sword and shield and fight montsors [way too cliche for me] just so you can what... advance another level and just buy a bigger shield and fight bigger montsers? ANY other role playing game out there is so repetative tthat it makes me want to puke . Eve is something new to experience everytime. I feel so immersed while playing it! That's just my two cents on the whole thing. I'd love to hear everyone else's thoughts

P.S. Stargate-SG1 is a great TV series! ________________________________________

Everything about Eve is unique IMO, there are too many things that kick arse to single out one.

I try to be more constructive myself and adapt to the changes. I try to understand generally that there are sides to things.. More than just mine. I don't for instance come to forums yelling "OMGWTF THE DOWNTIME WENT 3 MINUTES OVERTIME" or when some of my over-powered lame toys were re-balanced so that the gameplay is better for everyone.
Hey, I'm one of the guys who played the whole RMR deployment week, with close to 0 lag. I haven't been bugged by any horrible bugs either. I've loved every minute and played happily some 6+ hours a day. I've liked most of the changes introduces and most of what there's in the game.
I've however changed my opinions by time about a few things - after learning more about the issues or after some further development. But I'm quite far from hypocrite. Yeah, I understand what my comment sounded like though
Edit: I also at least TRY to see the views of the other people and find out about things before I start yelling. Most of the people don't seem to bother. I also don't slaughter some ideas and thoughts just because some tiny detail would (still) require tweaking.

I started this thread to talk about what is LIKED in EVE, and i did NOT start it to flame about n00bs and the bugs that eve has. Please take that somewhere else - thank you.

Aside from CCP aqs developers, which are something quite special for an MMO of this size. And besides the degree of freedom and complexity that even after two years haven't even been explored to anywhere near their full potential, it's probably the below that keeps me coming back.

EVE amazes me on so many levels. It has many faults and problems, but they can be put aside for now.
- The vastness of it.
- The freedom, you can do so much, and there is potential for even more.
- It's still beautiful after so long.
- Everything is player driven, from the market to the politics, the game changes around the players.
- The Dev's interaction with the players. People have been having a go at CCP lately, but you have to admit, they are always there, and they really care about the game.
There's probably more, but it's impossible for my poor little brain to think about them at this time.

Not an easy question.
But one of the things that¦s great in Eve are the politics. Never before have I seen a game with so real to life politics. From the little CEO of small mining corp, the the big Alliances. And evrything inbetween. There¦s spies, backstabbing, wars, trust, agreements etc. I think you all know what I mean =).

Yeah, i'm going to have to say one of the most compelling things is the "vastness" of it. Space is so huge and vast, and it was captured in one game. As far as graphics go -- the GUI is great, but the actual 3D graphics could use an update. What i mean is, throw some DirectX 9 effects (Like heat blur, or bump mapping) that could immerse us more into the game.
I'm into my 3rd trial of the game (I can't pay $20 a month right now) and i could say i have a bit of experience, but there is sooooo much i hear everyone talk about that i haven't seen yet
P.S. Wouldn't it be cool if you could actually get out of your pod and walk around inside your ship - In 1st person?
