hey my friends corp is at war. what happens if i form a gang with him??

you open yourself up as a target for the corp at war with him if your ganged

-Yes you can join gang.
-You have to get shot at before you can shoot back. Unless you'll get aggroed.
-Their enemy will not see you as a war target. Unless you shoot first.

I'm thinking that's the smartbomb exception. So if you crash a war target gang and pop a smarty, you don't get concordokken.
Iffy, but the less work for concord, the more donuts and coffee they'll buy from the traders.

Its all pretty simple tbh, once you gang with a player that is at war, you WILL show as a war target , It tells you in the dam message that pops up when you try to gang with someone who is currently involved in a war.

Did they change this in RmR? You used to be vulnerable to attack but there was no way of seeing you were a target

Actually. As soon as you join the gang you become a legitimate war target. You don't have to shoot, even. Being in a gang is enough to be tagged as a war target.
How do you think ebil piewates ransom frighters in deep Empire space (talking 0.5+ systems here)?

hey guys thanks already for the info. basically i want to help my friends corp fight the war we in empire space... so if i join his gang can i shoot the enemy corp without concord getting involved?
when im in gang can they see that i am?? also if they are ganged up with members taht are not involved in the war can i shoot them and will they have a symbol???

oh and another thing do i have to be part of a gang to be able to remote repair?? can i remote repair anyone or is it considered hostile and will i just get concord on my ass/....

You've raised a number of overlapping points that indicate you are a bit confused.
1) If you are ganged with a member of a corp that is at war, the opponents in that war can shoot you without CONCORD intervention.
1)b) You CANNOT shoot first, this is a hostile act = CONCORDOKKEN.
1)c) You especially CANNOT shoot people they are ganged with that are not involved in the war. I'm uncertain if once they fire their gang-mates become valid targets, I would think yes, but defer to experience.
2) Responses have been mixed as to whether members of the opposing corp will see you as a target. There is no indication to my knowledge of whether another pilot is in a gang.
3) Remote repairing is not hostile IIRC, but will flag you to whomever your target is flagged to. Thus repping a criminal will flag you to sentries/CONCORD, and repping a war target makes you a valid target also.
