While I'm sure this was a joke, after looking at this ad I'm gonna buy this one... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Morphy-Richards-Accents-44737-4-Slice/dp/B0052WHF9U/ref=sr_1_8/276-2043584-3675546?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1382185255&sr=1-8
Very Nice. Not for EVE but for toast, I need a new toaster anyway... Everyone is always repeating the mantra "Don't Trust Anyone" ad nauseum... If I can't trust the guys I play with, why bother playing with them at all? Fly Solo... |

Don't suppose you know anyone that can build one for you? That'd be the way to go. If you want to upgrade it as you go, just start with a good motherboard and you should be able to keep it current over the next few years.
I built a very nice gaming rig for my friend earlier this year for about 1000 dollars and I'm no expert. so it can probably be done better for cheaper.

Toshiba has a decent touch screen laptop, I think it's a 19" monitor(?) that's like 400 bucks and should run even fairly well. Acer makes one as well but I haven't messed with one yet. I have a gaming rig that is about 3 years old and cost me about a 1/4 of that rig and I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
Now, if we were to play a different game, like Forsaken World or something we might notice a bit of a difference...

I run i5 3770 - 660 - 8gb ram. I saved over 500$ by buying from a small Company which was buying and putting the parts together. It was cheaper than buying the parts individually. |

Each client you run uses about 1gig memory.. don't see 11 clients running on this. I would suggest anything (except a sony vio laptop) that can run direct X11. Has at least 4 gig memory and has dedicated graphics memory of 500meg or more. That will easily run 2 clients.

The SSD swap file takes care of the memory hole that his PC has. Even thewis' 25 clients per PC are all fitted with SSDs for multiboxing (thewis is that hisec miner with ~100 accounts)..
He even shares some tips for emulating his setup in this thread: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=200503
My 5year old pc:
E8200 2.66Ghz dual core Radeon 4670 2Gb 4GB DDR2 ram 7200rpm mechanical HD
Runs 8 clients all lowered settings. Processor activity is always near the top though so things get hot. |

Here is my setup.
AMD ATHLON II X3 450 BOX AM3 CPU 54.24 Gé¼ (might want to get a better FAN for it, the one in the Box isnt really great) DDR3RAM 2x 4GB DDR3-1333 GeIL Dragon 66.46 Gé¼ ASRock M3N78D, nForce 720D Socket AM3+ 47.64 Gé¼ Palit GeForce GTX 660 OC, 2GB GDDR5 149.90 Gé¼ AeroCool Strike-X Series 500W ATX 2.3 51.47 Gé¼
in all 369,71 Gé¼ should be around 505 $
The Board supports CPUs with a TDP up to 140W, so you can even put in the AMD-FX CPUs
I only have 2 EvE accounts but they both run on High settings without any issues. |

I now have an i5 @ 3.8GHz & a 660ti, it handles eve just fine Before this upgrade I had a Core2 @ 2.4Ghz & a 4650, which also ran eve without any problems.
Spending -ú750--ú1200 on a new machine will easily get you EVE-Capable but like everything else it really depends on what else you want to do with it.
EVE doesn't require bleeding edge hardware, which makes it easier to budget for If you also want to FPS with ultra-high settings as well, then spend the -ú2k+ on a 'power-user' rig. |

- fast quad core processor (NON HYPERTHREADING) .. YES EVE DOESNT LIKE HYPERTHREADING, YOU WILL SEE A DRAMATIC IMPROVE ON YOUR MARKET CLICKS SPEED IF ITS NOT HYPERTHREADING.
- 1X 660ti more than enough
- 2x 4gb memory
- 1x ssd (eve works better on ssd, dramatic improve too)
- 1x good power supply a little above what you need to power all the above (this is important too, needs to be good and a little more than what you need)
the rest is up to you. |
