Remote desktop should work, the comp you are connecting to (the one with EVE on) has to be XP Pro or above. I'm not sure what your connection is at home but it will be uploading quite a bit of imagery so I would only really use it to change a skill (if you forget) don't join in on a fleet battle when at work through remote desktop, I wouldn't advise it.
I believe you would use VPN if you wanted to access and use another networks resources, shares and diskspace as a authenticated user of that network over the internet.

Use VNC - its platform independent..
And your connection at work isnt really important - its the one at home (where you will be "pulling" all the screens from) that matters...

Remote desktop connection wont work. If I am not mistaken you can't run direct 3d applications via a rdesktop connection. VNC works fine. You will get crap FPS though.

The above poster is correct. No DirectX game will run within a Remote Desktop or Terminal Services or Citrix Metaframe window.
That other app might work though, if it's just sending screen grabs. That's going to be VERY bandwidth intensive though. Ouch.

Yep yep... I have tried this by tunneling my Remote Desktop over SSH from work and received a complete black screen when launching the game. Later research showed that no direct x will work over the remote services mentioned above.
