yup, it's annoying to have to wait everytime you want to do something in that menue. Example: someone escrowed you something at the station where you are at, you want to accept. Last time you used the escrow you searched the whole region. So eve loads the whole region (which takes a couple of seconds) although you only need the station. t's about the annoyance of waiting not the few seconds you waste. So just make it so that you set the options you want and then press a LOAD buttton.

yeah would be very helpful to be able to set your search range prior to hitting a "search" key to refresh the displayed escrows. atm i have to remember to set it to "enter items into escrow" so that the next time i open it i dont get frozen screen as it searchs.

Agreed, an ability to search (even if basic just to load the page) rather than just load the last view would great

Huh, guys ??? is this thread supposed to be a joke ?
You're complaining because the escrow list takes TWO SECONDS to load ?
I would understand if it took half a minute... but TWO SECONDS ?
It'd take you longer to set your search range anyway.
Unless of course, for some reason unknown to me, you spend most of your game time escrowing stuff ?
Get real, people !

Would it be so hard to hit 'search' when the window came up?
I think this is a good idea myself, although for a lot of the use Escrow is currently put to I would rather see something added to the market. (i.e. buying sets of things, fitted ships, etc).

Edited by: Ayla Vanir on 31/01/2006 13:37:14 I'm on the fence, because when I spent entire days whoring on escrow, it was useful to have it auto-load (because it was usually set to whatever option you wanted, thus saved a click). However, it was not always useful, or desired.
I suppose a load button would be nice. I'd prefer to just have to reselect one of the existing, desired radio buttons. What I'd really like though is a name filter so that I can block the people I don't want to buy an escrowed item from. But that's a different topic.
[Edited to add: Back on this topic, a 'Refresh' option would be nice, rather than having to select some other filter range, then go back to the range you want. Unless there's some hidden rationale from a design perspective to do it this way, it appears to be inefficient from a data transfer standpoint to remain the way it is.

First off, relax. Put the chocolate covered espresso beans down. Easy now... eeeeasy...
It takes up to 20secs for me sometimes if there's a lot of people on, and it's just poor interface design.
It would take less than a second to click a button that loads the screen with data after I've chosen what data I want - whether I'd like it to use my last settings (default) or new ones that I input now - before I'm forced to wait for data that I don't want to see and am just going to immediately change anyway, making me wait another potential 20 seconds. User-centered interface - that's what we're talking about.
Even better, and only another second or so, I could choose from a dropdown list of settings that I'd customized myself, like the overview settings on my ship.

I can see why people want the change, but I don't think it's a good idea as a default. Hence, optional.

Signed.
Yes, let us set up the parameters, then hit a "search button" for results to load. This would save up on server load, and make it a faster process. |
