Hey,
I have been playing this game since september, and I only saw an Augoror once since. What is wrong with it?

Its an amazing support ship for an amarrian fleet. With it's long-range capacitor transfer capability, you can have the rest of your gang focus on damage/tanking without worrying about capacitor while the augoror replenishing their cap from long range and offers basic offensive/defensive support.
People simply refuse to acknowledge and use it's role. --------------

Everybody wants to be the hero I guess.

If you mean that everyone wants to be the "omfg damage rof dot tank 4tw" and that no one wants to sacrafice any of that for fleet versatility and survivability, then I agree.
If you are saying that the idea of offering capacitor to the fleet instead of doing damage is a heroic act, well now I'm confused --------------

It's prolly not much use in fleets/gangs, as any support kind of ship (once the enemy realises it is ebing used ofre support) wil be called primary :p
However, it is nice when doing missions to have an alt supporting you :)

The range is generally around 30-35k for the supporting ships, even their tech 1 variants. They may be called primary but with that deliberate range buffer they can use their defensive weaponry and drones (along with it's natural additional armor bonus) to deflect things long enough to tank focused-fire threats. At least long enough for everyone to call primary on the assaulting ship. And even then, if they notice a change in locking patterns the augoror's 30-35k range away from the main fleet gives it a chance to warp out from the battle and to saftey. Able to warp back in when clear. You can't ignore it's range buffer nor it's armor defence bonus.
You have a point, but it's almost moot since the RMR changes. --------------

The first one.
However I personally consider the support pilots to be the real heros of Eve. Those that give up personal glory for the greater good etc.
Shame everybody else is all ZOMG 1337 WRECKINGLOL!!1

I love those pilots, it's so cute to watch their logic.
So you hit for 678.3 damage, against a Rogue Drone structure that has 0% resistance, an ungodly signature radius, and it was just a rare wrecking shot and not a normal shot that can be calculated. So in a normal battle you would hit for, what, 12.3? --------------

Problem with the support role is most people don't see the point in having a support ship when they can have more guns.
Personally I love doing the support roles myself (tackling, ew, command mods etc) but in the larger fleet battles support is a waste of time since nothing lives long enough for the support to have an effect.

Now the Navy Augoror I recall as having some amazing stats. I think similar slots to a Maller. Looks like a beast of a ship.
