Just came back to game from years ago... I made this alt to skill for Gallente PVP use. The other is skilling for Amarr BC's now.. yes I like the unconventional.
With Ship changes often with each update it's hard to stay up to date on what works.
I'm going to dual box my Amarr BC toon with this Gallente Alt, but so that I skill right, which of the two ships would be a better all around choice in your opinion.... not so much on mod fittings, but just the better ship to PVP in right now considering a dual box management consideration, and maybe why you think so. (I don't use ISBoxer, I just have a very big display that each client fits perfect with no overlap. so it's very easy to see the action.
Both ships are in the right price range to replace if/when I need to, so it's more a matter of function.
You guys and gals are amazing, so any advice is well appreciated. |

In my opinion, dual boxing isn't your best option. You can run 1 character in pvp with near-maximum efficiency, or 2 characters with half efficiency, which will only lead to 2 loss mails, especially with 2 drone boats. Your best bet, I'd say, if you plan on using both accounts, is to train one into a Command Ship to run as a booster. This way, you can park him off grid (or on grid if that's your forte) and devote most of your attention to your combat character, while glancing at the other account periodacally to DScan for combat probes, all the while receiving glorious Armour links. That's just my opinion though. Managing an active tanked Brutix and any ther ship sounds like a nightmare (pun). I wear my goggles at night.

how the dual boxing works for the most part for me at least is to have an alt in system that my PVP main is hunting, etc... when I engage, I keep him as backup close by (cloaked) in those emergency situation where I am jumped or what have you (IE. Losing, but barely)... just a backup that makes me feel less alone.
I realize they are different ships... that's why the question.... is the cool thing the crazy DPS the drones will do or the guns..
I suppose my question was sort of answered with the management of drones comment... on one hand it would be hard to micro manage them on an alt, but on the other, I could just let loose T1 hammers or Ogres from range (cheap throw aways) and let my foe deal with them.
The Falcon is cool, but not my style of play since he's sort of Gallente...and all. |

Solo dual boxing, its the new solo where you have multiple characters on your side to reduce the risks caused by being solo >_>

If you plan on gatecamping with bubbles, I can highly recommend using 2 Vexors. Seriously. One with scram and 2 sensor boosters and the other with web and TD's. Kill's almost everything. |

I love to use a simple t1 Vexor and Cloaky RR/Energy Transfer cap stable Auguror, when I go out in Duo.
I scout with the Vexor looking for a fight and if someone takes the bait, I bring the Auguror to rep me up.
Using a T1 cruiser has several advantages: - Cheap if ya find a gate camp and die, or even get hodroped (meh... 35mil) - People are bound to underestimate ya (easy to have fools come into scram/web range because it's "just a Vexor") - Being drone boat can still make DPS if Jammed - Being drone boat can still make DPS if neuted
A Cloaky RR/Energy Transfer cap stable Auguror means you can jump, orbit 50km and then just forget about it, as well as get valuable intel in a particular spot.
Last solo guys that underestimated the "lone" Vexor where a Talos, a Cynabal (well.. I was actually on a Thorax, but same concept), and an Ishtar.
This combination also allows ya to fight more than just the random solo player looking for a gank.
- Engaged a Dominix, Rapier and Wolf, managed to kill the Dominix (200mil), but lost both my ships (60mil) - Engaged Cynabal and Prophecy, killed them both and pods (about 500mil). Only lost both my toons because they brought in Drake 2x Domi and 1 Geddon and I said "oh well, let's see if I can take the drake too!" - Engaged Brutix and Moa, killed Brutix, Moa GTFO
I would link the Killmails, but seems to be against the rules to post them outside "Crime and Punishment"....
These above were my most recent experiences with the Vexor/Auguror.
In this "Curses" episode I comment on how I used that combination some time ago.

For Gallente/Amarr, I think the most straight forward combination is Prophecy and Brutix (for low sec).
Both can tank gate guns well in low-sec, and puts out enough DPS to bring down most solo ships in reasonable time, and you can fit neuts on Prophecy to cap out active armor reppers which have become more popular these days. For shield tankers, ASB means that they still have tank even with neuts on them, but turning off the invul does make a difference even for ASB tankers.
Of course, you could use Navy Vexor + Arbitrator for kiting with TD, bait Maller + Sentry Vexor for keeping the vexor out of harm's way when things go wrong, etc, etc.
But unless you are prepared to shell out more, I do suggest BC for low-sec solo-duo (whatever) because being able to fight around the gate will give you a lot of options, and if you aggress first at gate many players take the chance to fight back because they think they have the advantage with gate guns on their side (that's when you jump in the second ship of course)
Although Vexor hulls in general can sport respectable tank for its ship class, fighting a BC in cruiser hulls while tanking gate guns is pretty hard unless you are using T2 or T3 hulls.

You can dual box solo and you can also solo in a fleet. It's called using 1 character I believe. I dunno v0v I'm confused
Also I would use the drone ship as my secondary character when solo dual boxing. - Killz
