A a paying member of eve for over a year I'm sad to report that CCP has robbed me on several ocassions. How did they do so you may ask. Well i pay real money each month to play this game that includes all the items i acquire during game play. When the game destroys those items or causes thier destruction and the ccp refuses to return them then the item which paid for has been stolen. That item = real money.

I highly doupt that they did it knowingly. What would they gain for this? They won't give you what you want because there is no proof.
btw, CCP treats its customers far better than some companies do.

Edited by: Karla Kay on 31/01/2006 04:13:15 Proof? I lost items to bugs on a certian day and at a certian time that is a fact... Proof sounds like you are hinting that it may not be true? As a christian minister I take offence to such a responce.

Edited by: Havoc GunStar on 31/01/2006 07:15:25 Erm, if you'd read the EULA, you'd know you don't HAVE any 'property' in the game. You don't OWN anything in game.
By the way, similar things happen in WoW. I just played it for a year, and came back to Eve-Online because they broke my class, and the game doesn't punish stupidity or poor tactics in PvP. In fact, it encourages it.

Well.. any game simulates some sort of life. So gaining also loosing things would be like everydays life. You pay money to live. And you sure dont come up on god (or <insert the person/s you believe in>) pointing at some EULA ;) PS You pay money to play eve not to own it imho.

Still if you ask me he didn't read the EULA. It is stated, as far as I know even in that EULA of WoW, that all items and the client are still ownership of the company that has pushed out the mmorpg. In this case it is CCP. So he is just pointing out that CCP steals their own belongings, now I wonder what stealing is then?
I do agree this is a frustrating and annoying thing to happen, especialy when it goes about hard to get and expensive modules/ships.
Also to my fullest oppinion this is just a hidden attempt to promote WoW and breaking down CCP. I play both games and I find both have their weak and strong points. Even the companies running it, but if you ask me CCP is doing a little bit better job at it.

If you are refering to true ownership, you do not own any item in the EVE Game environment, everything belongs to CCP.
If you are refering to loosing items through legal game mechanics (i.e NPC Pirates, player pvp) then thats part of the game.
If you are refering to loosing items through possible bugs, then you should petition GM's ingame to investigate. Whatever they decide is final.
