Its not just me, once you have reached a certain point in eve now theres nothing to do, you can mine bistot with 8 miner 2s or whatever or kill a few hundred npcs with your uber guns, thats it. What eve needs is a huge war to liven the game up and stop people leaving, theres too much carebear protection etc.

I think we need a caldari/gallente war or a minmatar/amarr war :D
Of you could just go to Either Venal or Fountain and start shooting people :)

yeah give us a war, newest news could be " Caldari and Gallente go to war, Caldari want Caldari Prime Back" that would be enough motive for me to start killing vile Gallente ----------------------------------------------- Everything that has transpired has done so according to my design |

in a game that is to be run by the players, dont look for much from the GMs to give you events or wars.
when any of these regional alliances started, there were tons of fightingg going on, there was "content" created by US. WE gave ourselves something to do.
maybe now it would be interesting to see one alliance go try and take out another (yes, w/o player stations, terf dont mean much, but still can try to hold blockades and such)
as for he lag it would generate...A) its an online game, when you get alot of things happening w/in view you are gonna have lag B) some people (me included) are running the minimums for the game and should expect some lag from the PC when tryin to handle all this stuff.
maybe it would be nice for CCP to release another option in the display to remove skins on ships to help out on things that are needed to be handled by your PC.

Well... If you want wars why don't you just join the ones already happening between corps? Choose the side that you think is the one worth fighting for and go for it. :)
That's what I'm going to do anyways. There is always a lot of things going on. No need for events to be happening every hour right?
It would suck for the ppl who just bought the game to be caught in a war, let's say, between Amarr and Mimmatar...
That's my opinion anyways. ;)

Sure faction wars for those that want them... why the hell not.
Obviously there's a large part of the player base thats now wanting something a little more, hopefully that will satisfy there need without feeling the need to pick on random targets.
Not everybody has ubber weapons, battleships, or miner 2's yet, you have to remember that, these people might not want war to come to them. Also it's not realy fair to force it upon them, you might protest otherwise (carebear name calling statment ), but then, you have the ubber weapons:/
And some people just go about there daily lives in eve perfectly content with what they enjoy doing, trading ect...
Hopefully any said events though will be open to all that want them, and not just for the big corps, alliances, that just use them to get better equipment than they allready have.
That realy needs to be sorted, events should be for all, not just for the big boy tech drops.

What we realy need is new npc challenges, and some serious misions to do ingame, many ppl is leaving because at certain point it becomes boring and nothing to do in.

How about a Jovian invasion of empire space? We'd all have to team together to fend off this attack of uber ships and weapons.
I'd love to see that, instead of a hunt of a few jovian ships that turns more into a slauder. An invasion is a real event that would create a stir. It would get people off their mining asses and take out their guns.

well it seems everybody agrees that new content would be good. a war between certain empires would be one way of doing it, giving players an option to pick sides for the duration of the war and benifit well if they help their side out. etc etc.
it couldn't hurt to try something new

How about letting players fight? Just an idea. If you have empires fights, as Ulstan suggests, you have DAoC in space... actually considering I know Ulstan from DAoC it's not surprising he'd want that : P

Edited by: Saladin on 28/08/2003 18:40:35 What can I say? I'm in sheer awe of the wealth some people have accumulated. I'm no where near getting a battleship and can only afford to buy 3 miner IIs at the moment (not that I would pay the outrageous price for it).
Am I far behind everyone else? Or are most players in the game experiencing the same level of gluttony as the original poster?
Edit: Thos chanting for more PvP and wars. Why not just go to the Venal, Fountain or Stain regions and challenge the claim of the regional alliances? That is a sure way to get some PvP action. --------------------------- (c) Copyright Saladin, 2005. I think CCP is a bit preoccupied right now fixing things that should have been fixed in beta. I don't see much if any feedback from Devs. What we see is the *Rant clickers* jumping on every thread that touches a nerve. CCP time to address these issues. If we can't send feedback and we never get feedback from the Devs what are we supose to do, mine Bistot for days to keep building ships we loose to CTD's? One thing comes to mind here... Good old fashioned Brainstorming. Try it, it does work. Take what ya kin... Gives nothin back!!!

PVP consists of doing 1 of 2 things. Either camp a gate and kill everything that moves, or hunt gate campers and get to use your weapons maybe 0.5% of the time. I've been bounty hunting for a couple weeks now and I've gotten to shoot down 2 MOA's. Quite simply, when you show up to kill someone, they warp away and log. 99% flying around, 1% watching your target fly away and log off.

let ccp finish player own station and some other stuff first, then let peace over, faction war begin, corps have the chance to join 1 side.

I'd like to see some real politics instilled too with taking sides affecting the trade oppertunities, this to avoid completely lopsided conflicts where everyone just jumps the bandwagon.

I just hope when player owned stations come in they will be either destroyable (with a large force and major firepower), conquerable or both. Wars where players can't "take land" seem rather worthless to me. ---------------------------------------------- "Let me guess, my theories appall you, my heresies outrage you, I never answer letters and you don't like my tie."

Captain Xpendable you can't destroy them. But you can take them.
When you have done enough damage you can hack the station and then it's yours ;)
I'm also waiting for the stations (and outposts, and sentry guns, and all other cool player owned stuff). That will give the wars more of a meaning. Not that I think the game is boring yet (I'll probably never get bored, I have as fun now as six months ago), soon I will have my scorpion and then me and my friend will participate more in CFS navy/hunting pirates.

Berge, if you think eve is getting dull then upp the stakes, start picking fights with PC pirates, hunt NPC's in smaller ships 50k's in cruiser, 20k's in frigate.
Get a few people together for a bit of friendly top of the hill, one secure can 10 frigates, cruisers or BS, last one not destroyed wins :)

IMO the real corp wars will begin when the player owned stations are implemented. As it is much to gain for owning one. Every hour an X amount of cash will be deposited to the owners (corp)account, hence making it a very profitable estate. And who soesnt want to get money at regular intervals, just because the control a station? The stations will probably not be destroyable but the one who achieves to defeat the owners will be granted ownership of the station.

WTF is with these war hungrey griefers. If they want a PvP game go play Planetside or maybe a FPS game. Since when is an RPG of any kind a PvP game only, that needs a war to make it 'fun'. Just quit, go play a real PvP game and leave Eve for the rpg players!!!!
