Hi, n00b here so not sure what to expect...
It took me minutes to log in, and I've been sitting looking at a blank Agent dialog box since I logged in, with no mission information coming up.
Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong, or is there some way I can diagnose/report this problem (if it is a problem)?
Thanks,

No its not normal i am utterly stuck in outerspace.
looks like ccp changed something during downtime. which went wrong. You could try a petition but i think ccp has there hands full atm.

It's not just you, nor is it normally like this. I have almost exactly the same problem since DT.
It'll get sorted shortly, I'm sure.

No, its not normal, but its becoming a much more frequent occurance
The servers are utterly and completly overloaded, either that and/or a routing problem meaning we all cant do as much as even undock
So in answer to your question, no its often not this bad at all and i'm hopeful that it will pass

Why in the f$%k does CCP never respond to these threads ?
Even a quick .... "Sorry we've dropped a border router" or "We lost a SAN" or "We just plane farked up"
Their total lack of response seems to translate into them not giving a fark.
We know that sh!t happens ... but it would be nice if someone actually told us.

Why would they have to come out with a pr message with every little problem they encounter? I heard it was fixed soon why would they bring out a message for those few minutes/hours that it was bad?
I'm just hoping on the new cluster too that would make my buying and stuff waaay faster now I have to wait like 5 seconds for a market window to update that's too long if ur a noob and have to click a lot and read a lot of info to know what the hell u best buy.

Quoted for truth
Theyre working on it and everyone should expect servers to be slow for a short time after a reboot/maintenance. Try getting a few (5-6) of your friends simultaneously logging into something on your home computer...EVE has thousands trying to do the exact same thing. There isnt enough bandwith in the world to satisfy the login requirements for ANY MMO after a server restart or mass-booting. The market is slightly annoying but nothing game-breaking because it happens out-of-combat.
Bad comparison here but for those complaining about logon problems: the World-of-Warcraft web-server and login server shut down completely after a major problem affecting more than 1-2 servers (this occurs at least weekly).
EVE is doing a good job. Not quite as reliable as EQ but still extremely good considering they don't have Sony's money to throw behind it and don't split the players up onto different servers (they will have to eventually if new players keep coming but thats still off in the distance).

Why bump a 5 month old thread? Or were you stuck in space for 5 months?

LOL you think thats bad, I remember back when I first started playing eve it tookso long for me to login to the game that i was able to make 2 full bologna sandwhiches complete with lettus, tomato, pickles and onions (all of which had to be sliced) added a side of chips and a drink and had them eaten and still be waiting to completly log in. It actually took me 1.5 hrs to complete the login process. This is no joke either. fortunatly i havent had the problem for about 2 years now.
