I see a lot of threads lately about ppl asking for content and I'd like to see something on a scale large enough to give anyone who wants to the chance to participate. Problem is that this game seems to be unstable in general. I am really hesitant to do anything on TQ because of the apparently constant CTD problems and drops. I like gathering ppl to go after pirates and fight large battles but the last few times I've attemped to do this the server performance was so poor I had to cancel the operation because of CTD frequency.
The news blurb about ppl using the Sensor Boosters to exploit the known CTD issue is really a slam to morale imo. It may just be my imagination but it seems like this took entirely too long to fix and the fact that ppl exploited this to kill other players is very dissappointing.
I'm not sure if any other device sends those blue waves away from a ship besides a sensor booster, but on most occasions when I'm going against pirates (since the problem was reported in the news blurbs) I see those familiar waves coming off their ship. It's extremely demoralizing to have to wait until you patch the game if you want a fair shot at playing the game.
In closing I want to say I hope game stability is priority number 1. I see you tweaking all the weapons, tweaking the ships, improving gameplay (And this is needed in a big way), but if ppl can cheat so easily what differnce does it make? That's fantastic, really, but we need more COW BELL!!!! |

Simply saying sensor boosters are not working and then expecting people to simply not use them until they have fixed it is crappiest statment in a long time from a developer. Many ships target really slow and as a pirate you need to target fast to have any chance of catching people. I have dismounted them from my ship though but I do think it's really really bad of CCP to do it like this. ------------------ NoctoZ Black Reign Curse Alliance |

I agree. Since combat favors whoever locks first so heavily, the very possibility that someone else might use one makes it a necessity if you want to fight, bugged or not.
Saying "play nice, don't use this module till we say you can" and actually expecting everyone to play ball is a bit naive IMO.
I think they should have just disabled them or temporarily blocked them somehow. I would think an easy way would be to make 'em rely on a dummy skill or something so people can't use 'em till fixed. |

hm... disabling them certainly would have been the appropriate method, *if* the system allowed it.
Add this to all the trouble CCP obviously are having to get this games engine and hardware working as it should, it leaves one thinking about bad designs and wrong platform decisions...
Now, i know that was a *non* constructive comment, but i needed to vent some frustration about having spent quite a lot of sparetime for a product which simply doesn't live up to it's promises...
