My skills: Heavy Assault Missiles = 5 Heavy Assault Missile Specialization = 4 Heavy Missiles = 5 Missile Bombardment = 5 Missile Launcher Operation = 5 Missile Projection = 5 Rapid Launch = 5 Target Navigation Projection = 5 Warhead Upgrades = 5
Implants: EE-602 (2% CPU) AM-705 (5% to heavy assault missile damage) GP-803 (3% reduced sig radius) TN-903 (3% decrease in factor or target's velocity) RL-1003 (3% missile launcher rate of fire)
Using Scourge Rage Heavy Assault Missiles I only get an Offense dps of 566.6 in the fitting window. The author of the loadout and Tengu pilots I have talked to are getting 700-900 dps.
What am I doing wrong? |

Subsystem Skill Bonus: 5% bonus to Kinetic Missile Damage per level 7.5% bonus to Heavy, Heavy Assault and Rapid Light missile launcher rate of fire per level 10% bonus to Heavy Missile and Heavy Assault missile velocity per level
To clarify, that is why your dps is so low. The subsystem bonuses are in general really really good.

Well there's your issue... With the skill at 4 I got around 350 DPS, at 5 I'm getting 493, and that's only with 4 BCSs |

And at 5 with 5 Ballistics I'm getting over 500, around the 520 mark, and that's with regular Heavies. Also my missile skills are worse than yours. |

Something like the above with your implants will give you ~1000DPS @42km with Rage and 665DPS @76km with Javelin. As others said, train up your offensive subsystem skill to V.

If you want a great Tengu, you need ALL subsystems to lvl 5, and Caldari strategic cruise to L4, have pretty much perfect missile skills, with HAMs, or HMLs spec to L4. Close to perfect shield skills, have prop skils close to perfect, hull skills perfect, rig stills for missiles and shields close to perfect, weapons upgrade and adavance weapons upgrade to L5, and Electronics and Engineering close to perfect.
If you do this you wil lhave a great tank, great range and DPS with missiles, stable cap usually and much harder to EWAR.
My PvP Tengus do around 700 to 800 DPS usually, my PvE does 900 plus. |

What this man says. The only way to make any Tengu, or any other T3 by the way, to be worth of something it requires absolute perfect skills or at least at 90%. 5% here 3% there add some implants and wise mods to get +25% and plus performance over someone neglecting or not understanding the importance of all those little percentages making the difference. If you want to feel dirty, all mighty and overpowered, add OGB pirate implants and strong combat boosters. *removed inappropriate ASCII art signature* - CCP Eterne |
