I've been having this problem for about three days now. The "Logging in..." bar fills all the way and then sits there and does nothing for as long as I leave it. Attempts to remedy have included:
- Cache clearing - Reinstalling the game - TraceRoute (which was clean) - Video drivers, both updating to the newest, and reverting to an older version at the suggestion of CCP - I just ran the Log Server to watch what the program is doing, and I see what may be the problem, but I have no clue what it means --> everything seems to progress normally until the bar is full, at which point it just keeps alternating between two lines that read "Reading message, need 406830, got (very slowly increasing number) waiting for more data", and "Size of message 46511 Size of buffer (equally slowly increasing number)".
Has anyone else dealt with something like this before?

I have just started getting this over the last 2 days, 'logging on as crosswire' is as far as I get, also I have started getting stuck between jumpgates, this has only started over the last day or so. What's going on with this crap firm?

I had the same problem, tried everything, including reinstalling th whole system and nothing worked. so i ran the game and waited and after cca 20 minutes i came to the character screen and logged in the game.the game was then a bit laggy but playable. The second time the game ran fine i'll have to see if it stays so.

I wish mine would just start working like that :-\... unfortunately, it's still exactly the same at the moment.

I have been experiencing the same problem recently.
The only thing which really helps me when i have this bug - is to LOG IN my character from another computer. Then you simply log out after the game starts, and log in from your 'normal comp'. That's the trick - it really works.

Well, while CCP is sending frequent responses, they all seem to be of the canned nature. All of their suggestions have to do with my computer, but I really don't think that's it, seeing how it ran perfectly for a month and a half before this. It's starting to get seriously annoying, losing out on so many days that I paid for...

Precisely. Atm I'm paying for nothing and losing days of training..

Strange... now I can log in again, but it's acting just as it was before I lost login abilities. Extremely slow loading of window information (though the windows themselves still appear immediately), inexcusably slow jumps and response times to commands. I'm afraid to even try to take the ship into battle because I will die to the lowliest of rats before my computer will even tell me they're here.

Well, now I'm back to a complete inability to log in, and CCP's responses are looking less and less like they're even reading what I send to them. This is infuriating!

I have the exact same problem. I got a friend to log into my account for me from another computer, then log out again - after that I was able to log in. Once. Now, I am back on square one.
Luckily, I am only on a trial account so I am not actually losing money. But I was really looking forward to playing EVE and this is getting a bit silly. I guess I will have to wait until future patching, or something - which feels really sad.

I'm really confused about what is going on. yesterday i was able to log in, but with such lags that i lost my cruiser to the NPC rats (saw myslef orbiting and firing at a rat long after i was actually killed). And I'm also not sure if this is eve problem, because another mmo that i'm playing became in the same time as eve laggy too. But on the other hand, many ppl have the same problem with eve, so...no idea what to do. tub, if you play any other mmos, they run ok?

This is my only MMO, but the rest of my internet activities are all running at appropriate speeds, so I don't know. Is there any way to run EVE through a different port or something?

This has happened to ONE of my characters now numerous times. Each time a GM will move me. Sometimes it works, often it takes 2 or 3 moves.
I've made sure my cache is clear. Another thing to do is make sure at the esc screen that "show tutorials" in not clicked on.
It is not me. It is CCP. This is proven by it works if a GM moves my character I can log on.
CCP why don't you help us? Thank you. |

FOUND OUT THE ANSWER. I was just told by a knowledgable person, and it was verified by several others, that some nodes are down a lot. This means in certain sectors you can't log on. All you can do is have a GM move you to a hopefull active sector/node. They don't know which ones are good so it's a chance.
This sucks. |

Ladies and Gents.as he says its to do with the nodes. I have gone through everything to sort mine out. but one thing worked above all! I downloader the lastest driver for my router. This is located at the home site of your Router's maker. This pushed me too a new node and it worked faster then ever. other ways to change node is to
1 - delete cache file in CCP folder. 2 - Remove your broadband software and re-install with disk. this pushes up a new connection to the node. 3 - Get a GM to move you. 4 - Ask for a GM to move you again lol. 5 - Uninstall eve and the reinstall from file in My Documents Downloads Programs. Start a new character. The way to check nodes is to trace your connection to Eve server.
so check as follows. Run/ cmd type - tracert 157.157.139.10 (hope is rite will edit if wrong! This will give you a list of pings if any on route are 100+, this is the reason your log in is timing out. Other way to check is by watching your Sent Recieve data on Network Connections. If it freezes or Slows down majorly you know its the node. I have to say that sometimes it not eves fault. Check all firewalls are turned off and the your Proxy 26000 is free. Thanks to Xplained for helping me. I hope it helps your.

Now all 4 of my characters will not log on. The GM's have quit answering my petitions to move my characters.
