Edited by: Stellus Terrae on 01/02/2006 16:41:00 I'm not sure if SOE plans on endorsing this trailer (since the ending credits has their logo all over it, but I'm pretty sure the music from this trailer is from EVE's trailer. I smell a Copyright infringement. (Link in Qjet's post).

The music in EVE Never Fades is not CCP property and not their creation. It belongs to JunkieXL who made it so CCP can't do anything about it. ------

made a post about it in teh vid forum Linkylinky
the vid is an 'official' 'fodderside' vid, tho it does lend itself to the eve-trailer a bit too much.

*sigh*
At least look at the the bloody credits before writing this silly topic.
That Vid has "Radiant Films" as the makers. It has a comment from him, with thanks to the other players and outfits who helped out. Radiant is a player of the game and has nothing to do with Sony.
SOE also has never put a cent into advertising Planetside, it has all been done by players who love the game, and have worked to keep it afloat. SOE could careless about that project as it was just a test for them.
As mentioned, the music is from a seperate music group. It is still a nice vid though, one I havent seen yet, so thanks for that.

oo nm...
You're not missing much with it being free.
Markov Corp is a group of old PS vets who've been exiled by kissass forumwhiners and Evil Mods of Uselessness +20. Yeah, the Official Forums Mods are EQ Mods.
So we came here. :) Looks like I'll have to make the MarkovForums.Com channel public sooner than I thought... :P
EDIT: Oh, yeah. And the Fodder program is probably 6 months too late. PS last lost almost ALL of it's playerbase, the only reason it's got any action at the moment is because SOE gave everyone who unsubbed recently a free 30 Days.

ROFLs!
I was unofficially in charge of the 666th's Air Wing back in April 05-ish.
I left them, bounced around a bit, got some skill, then learned how to support wh**e. Then I got in TPC, and quit like 4 months later.

Kind of miss the large-scaled integrated operations and armored warfare we used to bring. Didn't matter how good a skilled player was, a coordinated fire team could take him down and keep him down.
And yeah, BFR's ruined the game for me, too. <sigh> What's the point of having 30 tanks coordinated in fire teams with directed air support on an assault when 2 or 3 individuals in BFRs could bring it to a halt.

Yea, the pop-locks were so bloody low. It was worse during that Home Land Defense event. God that was rigged....
But TR sure did put up some nice fights. I think it was Cery that I'm thinking of. Capital completly CE'ed up, teams fighting to resecure a sub cap and to keep another sub cap secure. My squad set up for a Gen hold, and the enemy surrounding the shield with BFRs, tanks, anything/everything. Shield goes down, they try to rush in, and the guns start blaring. Man, the kill-screen was just scrolling like bloody mad. God, theres always nice battles in that game though.

Here's hoping that the freebie ups the server pop. Been around since beta for that game, quit a year ago, been going back and forth with these free months theyre giving away to vets. It was a great game back in its golden days, but lost its spark when they continually messed with things, typical SOE.

That trailer does stink of being a wannabe, since the entire 'storyboard' is a copy of zond3's trailer... And i severely doubt that he got his ideas from the planetside one.

There was a time, on British TV, where 9 different adverts for different things that were running at the same time all used tracks from Moby's 'Play' album, some of them the same ones.
I don't think it ended up in anyone suing anyone. I'm sure the little baldy man was very happy about this too. --------------------------------------------------

Hehehe well if it wasnt "EVE Never Fades" ZOND3 who made the Planetside video, it was someone who was very very heavily influenced by ZOND3's EVE movie.

Edited by: Delusion ''Fel on 02/02/2006 04:24:17 Edited by: Delusion ''Fel on 02/02/2006 04:23:39 I have to agree with the many posts here, that trailer does rip off the eve trailer in almost its entirety, and sadly does it very badly.
Beauty Never Fades in the eve trailers was an excellent choice of backing track for a well produced, high quality vid, as the track just lends itself perfectly to the genre. TBH the eve never fades trailer was something i saw around a month or so into playing, where id hit the "omg ive spent a month not doing very much, maybe i should leave" thing that gets a lot of players, and gave me the motivation i needed to really stick with it. It also got me hooked on Junkie XL, but thats another story.
In comparison, the track doesnt lend itself all that well to planetside at all, tbh from the outset it felt wrong and i would have recommended sticking with the almost industry standard "Random Generic Death Metal Track" theme that tends to run through other fps trailers and vids. Its tried, its tested, it works and fits.
All apologies to the author of the vid, as i expect they worked really hard on it, and are probably pretty proud of it themselves, but where the Eve trailers gave me what i needed to keep playing eve, that planetside trailer just put me off even trying the game.

Originally by: Radiant I did, in fact, use the EVE Never Fades trailer for inspiration for my movie. I apologize for not mentioning it, as I should have.
However, I felt that my film was different enough in style to claim origionality without comparing the two.
Although, in retrospect, I certainly should have credited the Eve trailer for the ideas which it gave me.
I've never been a fan of plaugerism, nor do I condone the act, and I always make a consious effort to credit every contributor to my work where needed, though in this case, I should have mentioned the other trailer.
There are three things which I consiously mimicked in my trailer, which appear similar to the Eve trailer, which I feel I should mention, I did not adapt out of hopes of abducting fame, but rather, out of admiration for a fan-made movie, which I personally felt, was so impressive, that I just had to reward the Planetside community with an advertisement of equal magnitude.
First was the music. Secondly was the zoom effects on vehicles, and third was the key positioning of the empire characters.
If you noticed, I copied none of these, but rather twisted them into my own flavor. Even the music is slightly shortened and altered.
For the last three years, Planetside has dominated my time online. To referrence my movie, Planetside truly is a game of unparalleled proportions. As such, I wanted to expose and share the wonderful game that this is with as many people as possible, and the best way I could think of, given ten days time, was to recreate the sheer awe that the EVE trailer evoked in me.
If so many people could be brought into EVE on the notion that they were so impressed by a movie, then I thought "why not Planetside as well". Surely, this game is just as deserving, if not more so, of fame and recognition, as other titles.
If you've read this far, I thank you. If you enjoyed my movie, I doubly thank you. And if you share my love of this game, I can't thank you enough.
-Radant.
So there you have it. People see things that look cool, so they use it their own way. Its a part of life. We learn from others failures and success's.

PS was one of the greatest games I've ever played. If the players who still keep that game going need to use EVE Never Fades to help make a trailer, then don't have any hard feelings. They're doing they're best to keep SOE from killing Planetside completely by advertising it a bit.
