ok - I am trying to passive tank a rook, I am using 4 medium slots and 1 low slot (the other low I have a damage control in)
I have done a bit of trial and error - but am pretty poor with the results, as I have seen far superior being with a calculator out there can any body suggest some good set ups...
Obviously any pottsey input is appreciated as I think your the undisputed author of passive tanking information..

I used quickfit to figger it out. Assuming lvl 3 recon skill and pre-reqs. Engineering skills minimum of lvl 4. And using every available medium and low slot. the best passive regen I calculated was about 65 hp/sec.
using t2 em hardner, t2 invulnerability 4 t2 Large shield extender, 1 t2 shield recharger.
and 2 t2 PDS.
and that I'm afraid makes the ship useless for its intended role. and leaves you with a 2nd rate tank to boot.
this ship apparently wasn't made for it.
The Destruction of your ship is usually preceeded by the thought,"I think I will try somthing a little different this time...." |

Good input, I was drawing the same conclusion as you, hence I wanted to check with the community experts, thanks for taking the time to play around and look into it...

Go here. Select your main character and in the settings area, make sure you have the "Default Character" box checked. --------------

Why not use shield relays rather than PDU's ? Surely that'll give you rather better regen.

Try using Shield Relays and Power Diagnostic Systems in the low slots, I use 2 PDS and 1 relay for the best results.
Also use multiple Extenders over Hardeners. In most cases this is a better fit.

Could you give a run down on what you plan to do with the ship? Diffrent passive tank setups work better for different things. _________________________________________________ Nominate famous people in Eve who had an impact on you. |

Edited by: Gronsak on 04/02/2006 17:42:23 why are people wasting their mid slots on recon ships FFS.
you have to armor tank each and every one of them and use the mids for **** they get a bonous too.
people that dont know that should still be in t1 frigs
edit: actually please continue doing this, i relise that people like you drop people like me plenty good loot and give me plenty nice looking killmails

Using more than 3 of your mids in a Rook for tanking means that you should give it to me and get a Caracal instead.
ffs start fitting 4x ECM and then come back =/
That said, 4x ECM II, EM hardner, booster and extenders is quite good for PvP.
