** This CFS press release has been authorized by the CFS Office of Foreign Affairs **
It has been quite some time since the demise of the once great Coalition of Free Stars. One of the first alliances to exist in the EVE galaxy. Its ideology inspired many citizens of all the races, to create a region of space where citizens could live out their lives in freedom.
CFS spanned hundreds of star systems and the name CFS was feared throughout the galaxy.
Betrayal CFS flourished and its citizens were happily mining their Veldspar and Scordite, so they could feed their children. After mining time the citizens would drink Quaffe and celebrate the great CFS leadership.
Unfortunately this golden age for the EVE galaxy didn't last long - CFS got betrayed by its allies. Leading authorities within the capitalistic Fountain Alliance invaded CFS space to claim one of the newly discovered stations. Historians recently discovered that FA had already infiltrated some of the major CFS corporations, so they could exert indirect control over the ruling body of the CFS.
Result. FA gained a foothold on the Delve region. Their citizens were harassed by FA the navy nd the CFS ruling body gave them up, by allowing FA to control the station in Delve.
Rise and fall The Fountain Alliance continued with their strategy, to divide and conquer. FA even made secret agreements with pirate groups like mOo and even signed a secret agreement with Curse Alliance, to increase preasure on the already crumbling CFS military.
Soon, some major corporations left CFS because of the failure of the ruling body and some even colloborated with the FA. Some of those corporations started independent groups within CFS space. In Delve many of the able citizens formed the Star Alliance, to fight against the feared FA tryanny. In Querious the Querious Defense Force was formed, later to become the FIX alliance. In Period Basis the DSMA alliance increased their military foothold on its region. CFS was crumbling.
All good things... Tension between CFS and the new independent groups grew, when CFS again didn't act against FA supression. Again many military corporations left CFS and CFS totally relied on the navies of ex-CFS corporations to support them.
With CFS having no military, it didn't take long for the entire ruling body to come down. In its final hours, it looked to Stain Alliance for help, but they were tied, due to their good relationship with FA. The smaller alliances also crumbled under the strain of the major alliances like FA and CA. Star Alliance and DSMA alliance fell quickly.
The citizens of Querious were terrified of the idea of FA invading their homes and the FIX alliance was formed. Together with the QDF they ensured safety in the Querious region.

In its final hours, it looked to Stain Alliance for help, but they were tied, due to their good relationship with FA. The citizens of Querious were terrified of the idea of FA invading their homes and the FIX alliance was formed. Together with the QDF they ensured safety in the Querious region.
Underground The CFS leaders went underground, to already plan the revival of the CFS. Their goal was to first bring FA down, using the same tactics they used - infiltration. The vehicle for the destruction of FA was found to be Band of Brothers. The infiltrated CFS agents pushed within BoB to eliminate FA once and for all. And it succeeded. FA fell.
With FA out of the way, the CFS underground began phase 2. To reclaim the 3 old CFS regions they would need a military force and support. At this time, loyal CFS officers, now secretly operating within BoB and FIX are preparing to reform the CFS.
The time the CFS will be reformed, is now at hand. By order of the CFS senate, order #32 has been issued. Ordering all agents and informants to prepare to retake Querios, Delve and Period Basis.
The CFS president, who wants to remain anonymous at this time, urges the current alliances to stand down and give the regions back to their reightful owners. He wants to prevent unnecessary bloodshed. "We want to preserve human lives, but we will use if we have to." - CFS president.
This concludes our press release.

When CFS wanted to control their 3 regions which were taken over by FA, Jazz was also part of FA. The reason for FA's control over the regions was because CFS couldn't stop the pirate infestation at the time. At least, that was what we were told. When CFS asked FA to hand over the territory because they thought they could handle the pirates themselves they should have been given the opportunity and although Jazz had members in the FA command structure and many FA members didn't agree FA command wanted to keep the regions Jazz had a massive input of new players at that time most of them coming from the same corp soon a subcorp was made in Jazz to handle PvP things this subcorp worked quite individually although many FA members went down there, some just didn't like it. The OR situation was the final thing our PvP department left Jazz and formed an individual corp they would be fighting FA after that Jazz left FA to search a new 0.0 home now we're back in Aridia again where Blob of Bastards tries to kill everybody on sight I'm glad to see CFS still exists in some form gl

Star Alliance and DSMA alliance fell quickly.
I was in DSMA, we fought FA until the end.The end being when the DSMA corps outnumbered the CFS corps. The only CFS corp i can remember actually fighting with us was [CELTS]. The rest of CFS ran away at the first sign of danger tbh.
CFS is a joke, DSMA were the real heroes of that war.
Oh and Let us know when you decide to 'make a comeback' so i can personally go over there and give you a pasting myself. (hopefully before BoB and Fix Ahniliate you.)

There are a lot of mistakes in the history summary :/
CFS/DSMA/Star was a good alliance, we fought long & hard and the last standing force was outnumbered by the 3rd "FA" alliance Period Basis Legion. (you forgot to mention that we fended off the Orion Federation and the Silent Shadow Alliance)
Leave CFS as a good memory and move on... start something new, what's up with all these resurrection-wishes lately?

As much as I loved DSMA and the idea we created, can we let this just let go of it, please ?
CFS was kool but way back when, when ZiTek joined it was already a mess. CFS got spanked by Burn Eden (way back when they were kool!), M0o and many other small time pirates (I remember Miss Take and Miss-something-else well for ganking a bunch of my indies) around HED. CFS Gangs were formed but were completly ineffective to say the least.
DSMA was a good idea, FA could have had a nice bufferzone there with CFS/DSMA/whatever else there but decided it wasn't a good plan. In the end I guess DSMA were weighed and found wanting. All other alliance that tried, including ark federation or something failed misserably. For some reason this area always seems to be contested/molested up until now.
Talking to M0o about the release of the station after they invaded (and us PVP noobs tried to fight them off, i lost 3 BS's in 30 minutes orso, M0o had a nice laugh when they found an empty apoc at a planet somewhere) was fun tho, never talked to Eve celebrities before.
It's in the past, let it go.

CFS where good ppl yes. Beeing the first alliance to not claim the solarsystems they occupied, but merely striving to keep it open for all Lawfull pilots.
And they did well against the petty thiefs roaming the at the time named JF-Fix region. But on the first serious challenges by bigger entities ( myself recalling and incident with an Itherion owned by Bob Ghensiskhan, at that time an CA pilot ) I remember internal squabling between the industrials and the navy as to who would be paying the war bills and such quikly eating up the alliance.
The events you discribe here are all events that took place after the CA camps in A2 which basicaly incapacited the whole frameworks of the CFS, initiating its demise.
CFS where good ppl, but I wouldnt go sofar as to calling the alliance great. For that it leaned to much on leaders like Teister. Once the early leadership left, CFS basicaly seized to exist.
Anyway, wish you best of luck and wisdom for the future. The ideals where great, unfortunately the ppl carrying it where not all.

Umm.. ya. Dude your all messed up. CFS leadership was the one who backstabed the CFSN and my CFSDF in the back, because they were FA lovers, and traitors. DSMA, and Star tried to fight the CA and the CFS couincil order my fleets to open fire on them. We woulda had a NAP with CA, if we woulda just let them attack fountain in the begining, when they took that station in delve. But the CFS were puppets of FA. And BA had way to much influence. After the betrayal I left, and Liquidcool tried to carry on the fight. But by that time the damage had been done, and there was nthing left to fight with. CFSDF, turned into QDF, then they became FIX. And FIX betrayed what was left of the CFS to FA. the cFS died from CORUPTION. Lets it rest in peace.

Yep that is the true (though short) history. I would like to add that DSMA has done a great job fighting FA even long after Star Alliance (which I was a member of) fell. Much respect to the ex-DSMA corps, you were true to the bone. Pity it didnt work out better for us back then.
Back in those days FA, SA, CA and PA were the major powerhouses, these days its BoB, FE, RA and ASCN, I doubt the idea of CFS will fit in todays politics, but I wish you good luck neverless.

Guess I could add my two cents.
I miss the CFS for one reason: there was a reason to fight that didn't involve killboard buffing or e-peen inflating. I miss a lot of the times I had with the early CFS, even whilst getting our arses handed to us. We learned a lot, and many have gone on to great things.
With that being said, let the CFS lie where it has fallen. Teister deserves better than this.

In point of fact there never was a coup attempt, though it's true to say there was talk of it in a number of senior FA corps at the time who were tired of what FA had become.
But that is water under the bridge, in much the same way as CFS is.

LMAO excuse me? I was there and you are definately not speaking with your mouth on this. Some portions were correct like the seizing of the stations, which I did not agree with but was not in any position to object to at the time, later they were indeed kept in FAs hands because the council determined that CFS could not and would not manage to hold onto them by themselves. Several attempts were made to broker deals in which to hand some or all of the stations to them but they all fell by the wayside to petty power politics on both sides... I like to think of myself as the chlorine in the gene pool.

Yes I should have said a failed coup plot.
We're also not hunting JAZZ wherever they go. Only if we see them in Fountain. Since we don't have an official claim on Fountain, call us pirates if you like. Yarr.
One thing I don't understand about her post is why she's trying to gain support from former CFS members? JAZZ was one of the corps that fought CFS. The coup plot didn't come till long after CFS disbanded.

Hmmm, long time ago now Solwolf, certainly the pvp wing of Jazz at the time were most happy to kill CFS, but not all Jazz members were so warlike.
As you say, the rest came much later, partly through politics and that damned station (can't remember if it was NOL or TPAR) which initially caused the bad blood between BIG and Jazz.

Edited by: Thomas Epsilon on 03/02/2006 11:58:04 Relaying a communique from the president CFS.
** Authorized by CFS OFA **
History will always be biased. We apologize to the parties we were doing work back in the days and to the parties we have wrongfully accused.
In the end, CFS fell due to external influences and relied too much on its "allies" to stay alive. This will not happen again.
CFS will have an effective military, backed by a written alliance doctrine, which dictates that military action will be taken, when our sovereignty is comprimised. Politics will and can no longer prevent the alliance to defend itself.
In the old alliance we had a formidable and motivated military, to fight back for a just cause - but were put down by politics. Due to external influence and due to an ineffective organizational structure.
The galaxy needs to have an alliance again, based on an ideology that space is free, like the Caldari state, Gallente Federation and so forth. Many of the current alliances have an imperialistic nature and only conquer.
However, free space comes at a certain cost. The freedom was abused. Lack of concrete laws and law reinforcement where the catalyst of this abuse.
On the current situation. The current people loyal to CFS, in the old CFS regions, are ordered to continue the preperations for phase Alpha.
End of communique. President CFS

This new CFS might look good on paper, but just try to put it into action.
untill you get the " effective military " that you speak about, no ammount of " written alliance doctrines " will help.
you need pilots who fight, good look finding them, and when you find them, good luck keeping them when a proper alliance comes along

Edited by: Haiyooo on 03/02/2006 21:48:11 Greetings all,
You may remember me as Tommyboy, I fought for CFS many countless hours lost much and learned more. CFS had the most noble of principles even if it was the hardest to tend too, at least we tried.
Thomas, and former CFS brethen I know nothing of this Plan, but i will say the non-political Fighters of CFS were the most respectable lads and deserve a standing ovation for their valliant attempts.
If now, years later, CFS truly does have plans to re-emerge, I say this - God be with you Brethen and may all your foes be struck down with His mighty hand, Remain True, Remain the Coalition of Free Stars -
Sincerely,
Haiyoo (Formely Tommyboy)

Their goal was to first bring FA down, using the same tactics they used - infiltration. The vehicle for the destruction of FA was found to be Band of Brothers. The infiltrated CFS agents pushed within BoB to eliminate FA once and for all. And it succeeded. FA fell.
so basically what u saying is that BoB are ur puppets?
PS: what are u smoking, where did u get that and do u have some more?

As a former member of the Minmatar Freelancers, and thus a member of CFS, i'd like to point out that CFS was a gong-show.

CFS is like CA, dead but not forgotten. Nor does anyone want it back.

Wow, when you create a run-on sentance you go all out don't you? I would highly suggest grammar lessons my friend. Not to mention a personality graft.

Hi guys,
I'm writing you this message from the Niyabainen Narcotics Rehabilition Center. I have to apologize for my recent behaviour. I was under the influence from a great dose of Mindflood(R).
Enroute to Jita in my shuttle I was halted by Caldari Customs officials. They detected Mindflood in my cargo. The trick with the coffee beans didn't trick them anymore it seems.
So my cargo was confiscated and I was transported to a Caldari Customs facility. There they found out I was under influence of Mindflood and then transferred me to where I am now, the NNRC.
So, to clarify, some things I've said were fictional, but not everything. To many of you this, the following will be quite hard to believe, but.. there are no CFS agents within BoB and FIX awaiting orders to reform CFS. I made it all up.
Oh, I have to return to my cell.. to continue with my cold turkey rehab. Thomas Epsilon signing off.
