how do you go about making\creating a blueprint ?
I've read something about a BPO lottery and research points are tickets you win a Blueprint if you win the lottery, or something.
I know how to rent a lab but they only seem to let me improve an existing blueprint.
What are the odds of me getting a common blueprint ?
can I select what type of blueprint I'm after (or type of blueprint) ?

and the response is "buy them" so how do they "make" them or are they only created by NPC Corps ? ?

every Tech 1 (common) blueprint orginals (BPO) can be bought on market.
Tech 2 are those you have to win in the R&D Lottery, but that's almost impossible, i.e. don't go to the a R&D Agent thinking you'll win one.

i guess you can steal them too. but basically yes.
rats will only drop BPCs if you're hoping on that

BPOs cannot be created. You have to buy them on the market or win them from a research agent.
BPCs can be created from a BPO using a lab. But that's a whole different story.

Along these lines... My intention is to have a Science/Research specialized character. According to what I've read, my role in the economy would be to employ the R&D agents to get BPO's generated, then sell them on the market to BP researchers or manufacturers. That, while doing the R&D agent missions to get more RP/day.
Now, if the T1 BPO market is saturated, and trying to get T2 ones is a hopeless dream, do many people specialize in research?
