This is something I know that Brother Benthor knows how to do, as evidenced by his latest siggy, but does anyone else know this:
How do you get image ready and photoshop animations to show up in a web broswer? I've animated my current siggy to make it less cluttered, but I can't get the animation to run in a browser. Suggestions? ___________

If you animate it, I think you need to save it in a .gif format. JPG doesnt work for animation.

I've been trying gif, but when I've tried having it display in my browser it doesn't show. I'm going to keep trying though until I either get it to work or someone points out to me what I'm doing wrong, so yeah. Still needing suggestions. ___________

Only thing i can think of is that you're doing something wrong with ImageReady.

u need to export optimize in ImageReady to a .gif, after u made the animation.

Will ImageReady's optimization and save produce a smaller .gif than Photoshop's save for web routine?

You simply save optimised as, thats the only way to save as .gif.
If its still too big after that, then whack it back into PS and save for web, you can then tweak various things from there to help reduce the size. ---- Join Us

I fail to see why you would ever need Image Ready for anything. It is just a stripped down Photoshop with equally long loading times and just as advanced tools for resizing, cropping and cutting. Is it freeware or something?

For making animations, that's what this thread is about.

Photoshop has the EXACT same feature, making Image Ready redundant. That was my point.

no, they use the same formulas of comprension, with the diference that ImageReady is ready to optimize multiple frames of animated gifs

How do you make animations in Photoshop then? It has no timeline, no tweening etc. Maybe I missed something...I've been using PS since version 3 and I've never seen any tools for creating Animations.

and u'r wrong, ImageReady uses much lesser resources then PS and it is mainly focused for web image animations and web pictures, as a matter a fact, for Web u should only use ImageReady, since thats is main purpous. But i rather use PS2 that i work way faster, and give the finishing touchs for .gifs in ImageReady.

Edited by: Wotar on 03/02/2006 14:42:05 CS1 at work here and I've got no Window > Animation option.
Possibly older versions have this, I used v6 and v7 extensively in commercial work and I dont remember it, then again, I use PS mostly for illustration and photo-manip, so I wouldnt have been looking for animation tools.
IIRC, ImageReady was introduced with PS v5.5, so maybe it was part of the main PS application before then.
