There was an issue with parsing this post's BBCode
This error message appears whenever I try to post a link on the forums. It used to work fine, but now it doesn't. Since this type of linking worked in the past, I can only assume the problem is recent. I also just tried to do the same linking on this forum with the same error message. I have followed the linking direction exactly the same each time. What is the problem? I even get the error message if I copy the link address to the text of the post. What is the problem? |

as recent as the new forums
the problem is HTML type characters in the URL string such as spaces being represented by % 20, which the failforums interprets as html
so you cant post links with spaces in the url and I'm pretty sure you can't post any links with variables in the url (like a page that pulls a list from a BD by passing the vars through the URL
and it appears to be impossible to quote a post with a url in the content

It has worked in the new forums using the "create link" function. It just stopped working and starting showing the error message a couple days ago. |

BBcode parse errors are a new feature being pioneered by CCP. Soon, all forums will be unable to parse BBcode. It's the new fad.
