Hi, I'm still a newbie, and I've just started to try trading.
I spent all my money on some spirits in Calderi space (I'm Amarr) because I thought I could make close to a million ISK. However, I didn't have it pointed out to me by a friend until afterwards that spirits were illegal. When I checked the item info and discovered the legality tab, only three regions were listed. All of which details penalties for having the stuff. These three regions were where I came from, not where I was, so I thought I'd be okay, but I wasn't. I couldn't sell it anywhere I tried.
I'm currently on a 24 jump trip (in my industrial ship :(), to see if I can sell the spirits in the regions listed in the legalities tab.
Failing this, I really don't know what to do. I've put five weeks of ISK (5.3 million ISK) into buying these and I only have 60.88 ISK left to my name.
I want to learn from my mistake, although at the moment, the information to do that is rather illusive.
So could someone please take pity on me and tell me how I can slavage the situation.
Thanks, DG

As bugged as spirits are and selling them is illegal in regions where they are illegal, it looks like your only solution is evil.
Put them up on the market for below what you paid for them, one or two jumps away from a location where they (if not bugged) would sell for a huge profit.
Hope some other newbie buys them.
Thats the CCP solution.
You can try petitioning, but you won't get a reply or help (ok you will get an automated reply).
So, screw another player for a minor loss or just take the loss yourself.

I did about the same mistake when i saw that the ducia foundation were buying spirits on a high price. Little did i know that the ducia foundation was an amarr foundation and that spirits are considered contraband. I was later then told that the buy order that exists in Ducia is a 2-year old bug. i did however manage to sell the spirits with a profit to some station in the forge but it was like 7 jumps away.

Not an option for most newbies to travel long distances through often 0.0 space with no protection. Spirits in most regions is a total loss of millions with no GM support for newbies.

I've wondered if I got lucky once a long time ago (on another character) when I got some small arms for an agent--I brought them in, untouched. Does concord bust you when they are at a gate only, because I dont remember seeing a single inspection officer or whatever they're called.
The system is also bugged because concord will blow you up no matter what--i hope ccp fix this.

There is a chance they will scan you based on sec rating etc. They don't always get you.

Yup, us Gallente like a drink or three *hic*.
You can get to Sinq from Caldari space travelling through secure space.
It might be a long trip, but it does you Amarr good to meet people who know how to enjoy themselves .
