I was in my Vexor trying out the traning-missions, just to kill some time, and I got the the mission where u have to shoot down a drone. So I shot at it.... Then my security level droped from 1.0 to -0.5 and I was shot out of the sky... I lost my Vexor, 8 hammerheads some expensive guns and my cargo! This ****es me of... So now I sit here and think, I'm not the only one lost a ship... But this way... ... My opinion of this game is droping by the hour! I WANT MY STUFF BACK AND MY RATING BACK!!
Sorry 4 the caps gamers... I'm just so ****ed and frustated!!

I've sent a note on this to our testing department to determine whether or not the mission itself is bugged. The specific details of your case however would have to go through a petition.

What was the drone called which you shot at? Did you use the bookmark given to you by your agent to find the drone?

It's not like GM's would give stuff back... And the reson given is:
Our Logging is not verry sophisticated and we are unable to proove this is a bug. So you get nothing because they can't tell a lie from the truth... pathetic
I can live with a few bugs now and then, and even getting stuck, but not to loose stuff because of a bug in the game, and not getting anything back from GM's
been there..

A friend in his armageddon attacked a blood raider pirate (not sure which one but a low level pirate) at a gate and the sentry guns opened fire on him. Since he forgott the system name I will have to travell through the 8 systems on the way there to check again, But I heard from one other guy later the same day that he also got attacked for the same thing. I checked with both and they where sure it was an npc sign and not a player named like a pirate. Will post a bug report when I checked what system it was and what kind of npc pirate.

Edited by: Zrakor on 02/09/2003 17:02:52 Ok well so far we have found no evidence of this being a bug (the original case that is). I think the most likely case is that you attacked the wrong drone (i.e. a player or player owned drone or a concord / empire police ship perhaps). Due to insufficient logging I simply can't confirm why concord attacked, but we are working on fixing that up.
Another case, which might be the reason the friend of the other user on this thread was attacked by a sentry gun, is that some weapons (such as missiles, smart bombs etc) cause splash damage. That is, if an innocent "bystander" is close by (such as the sentry gun itself) and you use a missile or smart bomb on a pirate the innocent bystander may be hit by the splash damage and this will cause you to be attacked. This is not a bug, and has nothing to do with agent missions as such.
But if there actually IS a bug causing concord to attack you, we will need a better reproduction scenario, because so far none of the ones we have gotten have been reproducable. Usually these are only vague claims without any reproduction case making it impossible for the GMs to reimburse the player.

read his post more carfully, he was in a Armageddon, hence no missiles.
This also happend to me, but I was using missiles, but they were light missiles (50m splash dmg) And Im 100% sure that those NPC pirates were not that close to the sentry guns.. I don't think they would ever get that close even if you try to lure them at the sentry guns....
Allways the same answer from you guys... "Due to insufficient logging I simply can't confirm why concord attacked, but we are working on fixing that up."
So what you really need A.S.A.P is Sufficient Logging.
on another note, why don't you try to shot at the pirates at the gates... I mean hang out there .. for days even.... I know Im not gona try to recreate this bug because it's your problem not mine, and I don't want to loose another cruiser if I would be successfull :)

What exactly does CCP lose if they refund someone? The goodwill they gain and players they keep far outweighs the actual process of giving away a vexor or some other piece of virtual hardware.

If they would replace items without being able to verify that a bug was involved then every player in the game would file a false claim asking for a new ship. I for one wold rather want to lose a ship once in a while to a bug then to have every exploiting liar in the game get a brand new ship for free. I find your post rather stupid. They are thinking about game balancing, it is not that they don't want to help us.

our corp has lost 2 ships (cruisers) to sentry guns at gates in a completely random attack by the sentry gun for shooting arrogators.
They were both testing their TURRET damage and were both shot down.
Annoying yes, nothing CCP will do about it to us personally but hopefully they will fix it one day.

Ok well if they were using turrets on an npc pirate (and not a smart bomb or some other area effect weapon) then that is very strange indeed. But it doesn't look like it has anything to do with missions as such. We do have some QA people looking at it though, and hopefully we can get to the bottom of it soon.
